Requirements
  • A high school diploma, General Educational Development credential, five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Five years of experience with ski lifts is required.
  • Metal fabrication and welding skills are required.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage controls is required.
  • Rigging experience is required.
  • The employee must be able to work in various weather conditions.
  • The employee must be able to crouch, sit, and/or stand for long periods, climb ladders, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • The employee must be willing to work with a team to achieve a common goal.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the proper operation of chairlifts and personnel by completing preventive maintenance on auxiliary power units, electric motors, and line gear according to manufacturers' maintenance manuals; troubleshoot malfunctions and train personnel in proper operation.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and checking for overheating.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using come-alongs, cranes, heavy equipment, rigging, hand tools, and power tools; examine and diagnose the cause of failure and correct the condition.
  • Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating equipment and supply needs, and using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Prepare operational and maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Maintain technical knowledge.
  • Meet service-level objectives and department goals established by the immediate supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
  • Nondestructive testing Level 2 certification or experience is preferred.
