Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a similar field is required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of surgical instruments and implants using CREO computer-aided design software.
  • Create and maintain project plans and Food and Drug Administration-compliant Design History Files for each project.
  • Manage all aspects of assigned projects to ensure timely completion of tasks while remaining in compliance with the company's quality system and applicable regulatory bodies.
  • Perform design verification and validation activities to ensure designs meet specifications.
  • Partner with in-house prototype shops and external vendors for rapid prototyping and evaluation.
  • Assist in writing regulatory applications to the Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory bodies.
  • Obtain market feedback from surgeons and other customers to determine functional and design specifications for new product development.
  • Participate in product introductions through sales training, customer calls and visits, and support surgical cases in the operating room.
  • Work directly with surgeons to gather real-time feedback and identify clinical opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain post-introduction monitoring to address customer requests for changes and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product managers to develop forecasts and market plans.
  • Partner with the operations department to establish manufacturing and purchasing arrangements as appropriate for each project.
  • Research industry and direct competitors on an ongoing basis to ensure the company maintains cutting-edge technology in all markets entered.
  • Support lifecycle management of commercialized products by addressing quality issues, supply chain changes, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Drive design updates and documentation revisions as needed to maintain compliance and product performance.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate and implement engineering changes.
  • Proactively identify and communicate improvement opportunities based on customer feedback, internal testing, or supplier input.

Globus Medical raises EPS guidance to $5.05 despite Nevro and Enabling Tech headwinds

Second-quarter revenue grew 6% overall and 9% excluding Nevro, driven by 7% US Spine growth and 14% International Spine growth. Adjusted gross margin improved to 69.4%, up 200 basis points year-over-year. Adjusted EBITDA margin rose to 35.4% from 28.0%. Management cited Nevro and Enabling Technologies as potential risks to second-half performance. Enabling Technologies revenue fell 25.8% to $26.1 million as the company shifted towards flexible capital-acquisition options.

Globus Medical reported second quarter 2026 worldwide net sales of $789.6 million, up 5.9% year-over-year, or 5.6% on a constant currency basis. GAAP diluted earnings per share fell 26.2% to $1.10, primarily due to a $110.5 million bargain purchase gain from the Nevro acquisition in the prior year quarter. However, non-GAAP diluted EPS rose 55.8% to $1.34. US spine sales grew 7%, whilst international spine sales increased 14% as-reported and 12% on a constant currency basis. Excluding Nevro, overall revenue growth was 9%. The musculoskeletal technology company reaffirmed full-year 2026 revenue guidance of $3.18 billion to $3.22 billion. It raised its non-GAAP fully diluted EPS guidance to $4.95 to $5.05 from the previous range of $4.70 to $4.80.
