Requirements
  • An active registered nurse license in the state of New Jersey is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is required.
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience is required.
  • At least 1 year of oncology experience is preferred, ideally in an oncology unit.
  • The candidate must have a strong interest in clinical research; prior clinical research experience is not required because training will be provided.
  • The candidate must be able to provide patient education and organize clinical information effectively.
  • The candidate must be comfortable learning and using clinical systems such as OnCore, electronic medical records such as Epic, and other clinical trial management tools.
  • The candidate must be able to stand, sit, walk, use visual perception, talk, hear, and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • The candidate may be required to receive annual influenza inoculation and successfully pass a Mantoux Tuberculin Skin Test for Mycobacterium tuberculosis for on-site client assignments.
Responsibilities
  • Support Phase II–III medical oncology interventional clinical trials, including drug, biologic, and some device studies.
  • Screen, consent, and enroll patients onto clinical trials.
  • Educate patients and guide them through their clinical trial treatment journey.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, infusion teams, radiology teams, pathology teams, and laboratory teams.
  • Monitor patients for side effects and report serious adverse events.
  • Manage study documentation, patient calendars, and research records.
  • Participate in study start-up and trial activation activities.
