Gartner predicts that by 2028, one in four candidate profiles could be fake, exposing organisations to financial loss and security breaches. The solution features government ID verification across 200+ countries, liveness detection through selfie capture, and facial matching technology. It requires no app download and integrates into existing screening programmes. Accurate, a provider of global background checks and monitoring solutions, has appointed Steve Barnett as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary. Barnett brings extensive experience in legal, governance, compliance and enterprise risk management from high-growth organisations. Barnett previously served as EVP, Chief Legal & Risk Officer at Sterling Check Corp., where he guided the company through multiple acquisitions, a successful IPO and its $2.2 billion sale in 2024. He led global teams across legal, compliance and risk management whilst working with private equity sponsors and the board. Before Sterling, Barnett held senior legal roles at Jackson Hewitt and NRT Incorporated, and began his career at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. He holds a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
