Quadient launches AI agent that reads customer emails and acts on them for accounts receivable teams

Quadient, a Paris-listed automation company, has launched an AI agent for accounts receivable (AR) that reads customer emails and prepares the matching actions. The AR email agent identifies customer intent, sorts emails and tickets into payment commitments, invoice questions, and disputes, and sets up responses inside the platform AR teams already use. Quadient says this cuts manual work such as re-entering email requests into AR systems. Organizations choose which actions the agent can take and where human reviewers step in. Every action stays visible and auditable. The tool is available now, on an opt-in basis, to Quadient AR customers. Quadient plans similar agents for accounts payable and customer communications management.

Quadient expands agentic AI to accounts receivable, turning customer emails into action.

Quadient expands agentic AI to accounts receivable, turning customer emails into action. October 14, 2026 02:30 ET | Source: QUADIENT New AR email agent reads, understands and acts on customer correspondence, extending Quadient's AI-native finance automation platform while keeping finance teams in complete control PARIS - Quadient (Euronext Paris: QDT), a global automation platform powering secure and sustainable business connections, today announced the launch of its AR email agent, expanding agentic AI capabilities into Quadient's accounts receivable (AR) solution. The new capability reads incoming customer emails, identifies customer intent and prepares appropriate actions, helping finance teams reduce manual work while maintaining control over every customer interaction. Finance teams get a step change in productivity without giving up oversight. The launch is the latest step in Quadient's strategy to build finance automation around purpose-built AI agents rather than add AI features to legacy workflows. It extends an AI-native approach across the Quadient platform, spanning AR, accounts payable (AP), and customer communications management (CCM), to automate finance operations end to end and improve cash flow. From inbox to action, natively Every day, AR teams spend hours reading customer emails, interpreting requests and manually recreating those actions in their AR systems. As email volumes grow, repetitive work limits the time finance specialists can spend on resolving disputes, engaging customers and accelerating collections. Quadient's AR email agent removes this bottleneck. It triages emails and tickets, classifies payment commitments, invoice questions and disputes, and prepares the corresponding actions directly in the platform where AR teams already work. There is no separate tool and no copy-and-paste. Automation with governance built in Organizations decide how the agent operates, which actions are enabled, and where human reviewers step in. Every action remains visible and auditable. "As cash becomes an increasingly strategic lever for business growth amid complexity, accounts receivable teams should be focused on improving cash flow, not recreating information from emails inside another system," said Lilac Schoenbeck, Senior Vice President of Product for Quadient Digital. "The Quadient AR email agent combines the speed of AI with the confidence of human oversight, giving organizations the ability to automate repetitive work while maintaining complete visibility and control. This launch is an important milestone in our broader vision for bringing intelligent AI agents to finance operations." A connected, AI-native finance platform The release of AR email agent marks the next milestone in Quadient's broader expansion of agentic AI across AR, AP and CCM. Quadient plans to introduce additional purpose-built capabilities that address workflow challenges unique to each discipline while creating a more connected digital platform. The AR email agent is globally available for opt-in today for Quadient AR customers. To learn more, visit quadient.com. CFOs must scale AI beyond its "easy" first mile as costs rise, says Quadient's Schoenbeck

CFOs are moving past early AI experiments, and the next step is harder: scaling the tools across the business. "The first mile is a very quick mile with AI," Lilac Schoenbeck, senior vice president of Quadient Digital, told CFO Dive. Finance teams must decide whether to buy AI tools or build their own. Buying suits some processes, she said, while bespoke tools can work better where data and rules are unique to a company. Cost is another test. AI expenses often differ from what CFOs expect, so budgeting and tracking resource use are critical to the value gained, Schoenbeck said. She also sees an untapped use for AI in finance offices, which often hold a lasting customer relationship. AI could show how CFO interactions affect upsell, churn, and customer sentiment.

Quadient sells UK parcel locker network to Royal Mail for $73.5M, exits global business

Quadient is selling its global parcel locker business following a strategic review. The company has agreed to sell its UK network of around 3,000 lockers to IDS Holdco Limited for €65 million. The lockers will join Royal Mail's out-of-home network, with the transaction expected to complete before the end of the 2026 financial year. Quadient has launched a sale process for its remaining operations in Japan and North America. Its smaller European private network will be retained by the company's mail business. The global lockers operation has grown from around 2,000 lockers and €6 million revenue in 2018 to 27,700 lockers worldwide. The business generated €114 million in FY 2025, up 22.4% year on year. The divestment will allow Quadient to focus on digital operations and remove approximately €120 million of planned capital expenditure over five years.
