Requirements
  • Knowledge of high-voltage electrical power systems, including 115V, 208V, 460V, and single- and three-phase systems.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage control circuits, network architecture, and Ethernet.
  • Operational knowledge of EMS boards, modules, and sensors.
  • Ability to read and understand power and control circuit diagrams.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial HVAC, exhaust and ventilation systems, construction, and installation.
  • Knowledge of supermarket refrigeration systems, control valves and circuits, variable frequency drives, refrigerant pressures, and refrigerant hazards.
  • Understanding of refrigerated product integrity and product-loss risks and liabilities.
  • Skill in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to navigate a laptop computer to access on-site controllers.
  • Ability to access search engines and websites for products, equipment, specifications, and data sheets.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain team productivity.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of safety awareness regarding hazards to self, coworkers, and other trades at the jobsite and facility.
  • High school diploma or GED, trade or technical school classes with certification, and five or more years of experience in construction or a related industry.
  • Ability to read reports and prints, communicate effectively with coworkers, work at job sites and elevated locations such as roofs and attics, use hand and power tools, understand controllers and computer systems, perform analytical problem solving, and exert up to 25 to 50 pounds of force often.
  • Ability to travel to projects across the United States, arrange travel accommodations, and submit accurate expense reports in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
  • Provide basic assistance in retrofitting new energy management systems in supermarkets to improve power efficiency in lighting, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems.
  • Promote and foster teamwork within the EMS project crew, monitor project progress, and direct and lead the crew toward productivity and workplace safety.
  • Appraise individual and group performance to establish a highly competent crew.
  • Program controllers, install conduit, run cable, and wire refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, rooftop units, and lighting.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, and communicate schedule or budget changes to the Project Manager.
  • Perform related duties and projects assigned by account management, including parts and material ordering and procurement.
  • Make decisions to maintain project quality, timelines, and budgets.
  • Maintain daily and weekly communication with account managers, facility managers, superintendents, and engineering staff.
  • Communicate and coordinate schedules with store and facility managers.
