Environmental Service Worker – Lead 3rd Shift 10:30pm-7am
About the job
- At least 2 years of environmental service experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and operation of cleaning equipment after successful completion of 90-day training.
- Ability to clean and disinfect areas contaminated with blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens.
- Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of medical infectious waste and soiled linen.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact fairly and appropriately with people of all backgrounds.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and lift or move light- to medium-weight equipment, supplies, chemicals, and furniture.
- Ability to perform prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and stretching.
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with varying temperatures and exposure to cleaning chemicals, blood, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Perform cleaning projects and coordinate and complete minor maintenance tasks, moves, and setups.
- Facilitate employee training and development.
- Perform area inspections to evaluate and monitor quality performance, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and infection-control standards.
- Maintain current area-specific records and control supplies, equipment, and inventory.
- Assist housekeeping and floor technicians with cleaning patient rooms, isolation rooms, and common areas for patients, visitors, and staff when needed.
- Perform other assigned duties related to Environmental Services.
- Hospital environmental-services experience.
