Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are required.
  • Excellent knowledge and proficiency in using Microsoft Office, including Excel, are required.
  • Ability to rapidly learn and use the Agency's data financial system to ensure timely and accurate closings of the Agency's financial system is required.
  • Ability to work closely with program managers to ensure accurate reporting of transactions according to approved internal and government budgets is required.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall financial activities and a function of a major not-for-profit social service organization, including analytical review of general ledger accounts and preparation of financial statements in accordance with corporate policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Document financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of experience in finance, business, or accounting is preferred but not required.
