Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, life science, or business discipline is required.
  • At least 15 years of experience, including a minimum of 10 years of product management or upstream marketing experience, is required.
  • Experience leading medical device product development through commercial launch is required.
  • Strong people management experience and success working in complex organizations are required.
  • Experience presenting to leadership and C-suite audiences is required.
  • Prior experience managing a MedTech portfolio from mapping unmet needs through launch execution and sustainment is required.
  • The role requires the ability to synthesize and interpret complex data sets quickly.
  • The role requires strategic thinking and experience contributing to an executed strategy.
  • The role requires the ability to manage internal and external relationships effectively across functions and geographies.
  • The role requires the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines and tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Lead upstream marketing efforts including portfolio strategy development and implementation for patient positioning, instrument processing, and medical and dental room ecosystem portfolios.
  • Work jointly with clinicians, economic buyers, Engineering, Product Development, Downstream Marketing, Strategy Development, and leadership to create customer-centric product strategies and a future-growth pipeline.
  • Coordinate business cases, early-stage technology ideation, engineering development, and new-product launches with downstream marketing and sales organizations.
  • Lead market development efforts by identifying, supporting, and recommending growth areas beyond existing product lines.
  • Manage Product Managers.
  • Lead, develop, and oversee implementation of product strategies to maximize revenue potential from current assets.
  • Support corporate and divisional product strategy development within relevant product portfolios.
  • Translate corporate business goals and strategic priorities into an actionable worldwide pipeline that drives revenue and exceeds financial performance expectations.
  • Lead execution through PRP processes.
  • Create multi-year strategic growth plans and a global product roadmap aligned with senior leadership and research and development peers.
  • Work with clinicians to gather market and procedure feedback, understand unmet needs, and observe new devices and product areas.
  • Map competitive strategy and develop and execute strategies to advance the business.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative market data to identify trends and translate them into business opportunities and actions.
  • Conduct opportunity modeling for new technology platforms, including cannibalization and obsolescence of existing products.
  • Deliver or present documents and presentations monthly to the PRP Governance Team.
  • Create global market overview maps of key applications and technologies.
  • Identify and predict strategic competitive plays and market positioning.
  • Identify immediate-, midterm-, and long-term product gaps and provide solutions to fill them.
  • Use physician networks to assemble customer insights and inform pipeline strategy.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports, cross-functional team members, and marketing teammates.
  • Develop multi-generational product planning and a sustainable product pipeline by prioritizing unmet marketplace needs.
  • Provide market and competitive perspectives and evidence to peers, leadership, and strategy development teams as an internal subject-matter expert.
  • Integrate consumer research, financial, marketing, operating, manufacturing, and supply activities to drive business-unit strategies.
  • Serve as an internal resource for teams developing products through the Midmark innovation process.
  • Interpret and evaluate literature and publication data to quantify portfolio impact.
  • Lead and direct teammates, exercise personnel authority, contribute to departmental budgeting and planning, and implement policies and procedures affecting the department.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA is preferred.
  • An advanced scientific degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a medical device company is preferred.
  • Understanding of medical-device product development is preferred.
  • Understanding of agile frameworks for software solutions is desired.

Midmark RTLS launches BLE Sensory Network for faster, scalable healthcare location tracking

Midmark RTLS has launched its Bluetooth Low Energy Sensory Network, offering healthcare facilities a faster, more cost-effective path to facility-wide real-time location tracking. The system uses plug-in BLE sensors to provide near-room location precision of 3-5 metres for staff, patients and equipment. The solution supports critical use cases including asset tracking and staff duress, with minimal infrastructure investment and rapid deployment.
