About the company

ICEYE US provides persistent Earth observation using a large constellation of small SAR satellites, designed, built, and operated on US soil for government and commercial clients. It uses radar to capture all-weather, day-night imagery and change information, offering Data-as-a-Service, subscription analytics (like flood and wildfire assessments), and turnkey satellite missions. Its differentiators are owning the full satellite lifecycle, a dense SAR constellation for rapid revisits, and a US-based, FOCI-mitigated presence. The goal is to deliver continuous GEOINT for national security, disaster response, and environmental monitoring while expanding US access to radar-based imagery and creating recurring government and commercial analytics revenue.

What believers are saying

  • NRO awarded RCA and SCE work in August and May 2026.
  • NOAA selected ICEYE US on September 15, 2026, expanding civilian demand.
  • Irvine expansion and sixty employees signal growing U.S. production capacity and hiring.

What critics are saying

  • ICEYE US depends heavily on NRO, NOAA, and NASA contracts signed in 2026.
  • Capella Space and Umbra intensify U.S. SAR competition for budget and tasking.
  • Any FOCI compliance failure or security incident can freeze U.S. government access entirely.

What makes ICEYE US unique

  • ICEYE US controls the world’s largest SAR constellation, with cloud-penetrating night coverage.
  • Its FOCI-mitigated U.S. structure unlocks NRO, NOAA, and NASA procurement pathways.
  • Rapid tasking-to-imagery delivery and 25-centimeter resolution differentiate it from slower incumbents.

ICEYE US selected under NOAA contract to provide SAR imagery for Environmental Monitoring.

ICEYE US selected under NOAA contract to provide SAR imagery for Environmental Monitoring. Sep 15, 2026, 15:51 ET Award gives NOAA a pathway to task the world's largest SAR constellation for flood, sea ice, and disaster monitoring, day or night and through cloud cover IRVINE, Calif., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - ICEYE US, a U.S. leader in commercial remote sensing and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite technology, today announced it has been selected as an awardee under the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Space-Based Environmental Monitoring (SBEM) Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, a key part in the agency's effort to expand its use of commercial satellite data for environmental monitoring and weather forecasting. Under the program's Active Sensors category, ICEYE US will provide NOAA access to commercial SAR imagery of land, coastal, and ocean conditions. ICEYE US's radar satellites can collect imagery through cloud cover and darkness, supporting applications including flood and inundation monitoring, sea ice tracking, marine surveillance, disaster management, and resource mapping. That capability gives NOAA another way to observe conditions during hurricanes, floods, and other fast-moving events when adverse conditions can reduce optical visibility. ICEYE US operates as part of the world's largest SAR satellite constellation. In practical terms for NOAA, that means: * Faster answers when it matters most: more satellites in orbit means more frequent revisits over any given location, and imagery can be delivered in hours, not days, from order acceptance. * All-weather, day-or-night visibility: SAR imaging works through cloud cover and darkness, filling the gap left by optical satellites during active storms or overnight events. * Direct applicability to NOAA's mission: NOAA has identified SAR as useful for flood and inundation monitoring, sea ice characterization, marine surveillance, disaster management, and resource mapping, all areas where speed and reliability of data determine how fast responders can act. Ann Stevens, Chief Executive Officer of ICEYE US, said: "NOAA sees the value commercial SAR provides during environmental emergencies, and this award creates a long-term pathway to build on that experience. Across government, agencies recognize that commercial SAR can fill critical observation gaps by seeing through cloud cover and darkness and delivering intelligence at the speed of need. We're proud to support NOAA's mission and help protect lives, infrastructure, and assets." This selection adds to a growing list of U.S. government agencies relying on ICEYE US SAR data. In August 2026, the National Reconnaissance Office selected ICEYE US for its operational Radar Commercial Augmentation program, following a multi-year evaluation of commercial SAR capabilities. ICEYE US also provides commercial SAR data through NASA's Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition program for Earth science and research. Taken together, these selections reflect an accelerating shift toward commercial SAR as a standard tool in U.S. government environmental and national security missions. About ICEYE US ICEYE US is an industry-leading American remote sensing company based in southern California. ICEYE US engineers, qualifies and operates radar imaging satellites, delivering real-time monitoring of global economic activity, empowering U.S. government, allied, and commercial partners to make more accurate, timely decisions for the betterment of society. ICEYE US awarded contract under NRO's Radar Commercial Augmentation (RCA) program.

ICEYE US awarded contract under NRO's Radar Commercial Augmentation (RCA) program. Aug 05, 2026, 13:00 ET Award expands U.S. Intelligence Community access to commercial radar imagery and advances the role of commercial remote sensing in national security missions IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - ICEYE US, a U.S. leader in commercial remote sensing and Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite technology, today announced it has been awarded a contract under the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) Radar Commercial Augmentation (RCA) program. Awarded by the NRO's Commercial Systems Program Office, the contract positions ICEYE US to deliver commercial SAR imagery tasking along with archive imagery, imagery-derived products, and development efforts for the U.S. Intelligence Community, Department of War, and authorized government users. RCA is the NRO's dedicated vehicle for procuring commercial radar imagery on behalf of the U.S. Government, and selection under the program reflects growing readiness to leverage commercial remote sensing alongside national systems - a step in maturing commercial radar for the U.S. Government that builds on ICEYE US's prior multi-year study contract with the NRO. Because ICEYE US SAR data is unclassified, collections can be shared across the defense, intelligence, civil, and allied and coalition partner community under existing sharing agreements, maximizing collaboration when it is needed most. "Commercial remote sensing is increasingly part of how the Intelligence Community augments some of its hardest collection challenges, and earning a place on the RCA program reflects the trust the NRO places in our technology and our team. We're focused on delivering the reliability and responsiveness this mission requires, and on continuing to advance what commercial radar can contribute to national security," said Ann Stevens, Chief Executive Officer of ICEYE US. ICEYE US satellites pair rapid tasking-to-delivery timelines - order acceptance to imagery in hours - with the flexibility to capture areas as large as 120,000 km^2 or at resolutions as fine as 25 cm from the same satellite.
