Requirements
  • For the nurse role, candidates must be a member in good standing of the OIIQ and have at least two years of nursing experience, including significant home-care experience.
  • For the auxiliary nurse role, candidates must be a member in good standing of the OIIAQ and have at least one year of home-care experience.
  • Candidates for either role must provide a diploma, a criminal record check, a valid driver's licence, current CPR certification, and a résumé.
  • A vehicle is required for the assignment.
Responsibilities
  • Assess the physical and mental health condition of clients in their homes.
  • Plan, provide, and follow up on nursing care.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the nursing therapeutic plan within the applicable scope of practice.
  • Participate in developing and monitoring the intervention plan.
  • Administer nursing and medical care and treatments.
  • Provide instruction to clients and their families.
  • Identify at-risk situations and respond according to applicable protocols.
  • Collaborate with health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Provide on-call palliative care as needed by the service.
  • Serve clients across the territory's various service locations.
