CoreWeave stock down 56.9% in a year: why waiting until November may pay off

CoreWeave shares have fallen 56.9% over the past twelve months, while the S&P 500 returned 17.4%. The AI cloud company more than doubled its revenue in that time. The stock now trades at $61.12, near its lowest close of the year. The business has swung from a 6.3% operating margin to a 3.0% operating loss. It generated $6.9 billion in operating cash but free cash flow was negative $13.7 billion, and total debt equals 153.2% of market value. Revenue backlog reached $104.2 billion, up 246% year on year. CoreWeave raised its 2026 revenue guide to $12.4 billion to $13.2 billion. Analysts expect third-quarter revenue of $3.62 billion, just above the company's $3.45 billion to $3.6 billion guide. Results are due around November 11, 2026.

Cathie Wood buys $8M of CoreWeave after 30% slide, sells $3.6M of Palantir

Cathie Wood's ARK Invest bought about $8 million of CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) and sold about $3.6 million of Palantir (NASDAQ: PLTR). The trades, made on October 19, involved 132,498 CoreWeave shares bought and 18,349 Palantir shares sold. CoreWeave shares have fallen about 30% in October on worries about its debt, heavy capital spending, and returns on AI infrastructure. Goldman Sachs recently upgraded the stock to Buy. Palantir has risen roughly 55% since its early-August earnings report. Second-quarter revenue grew 93% year over year, but its valuation already reflects much future growth. Goldman also upgraded it this month, with a $230 target. The moves look like a valuation rotation: buying the punished stock and trimming the rewarded one.

Cash beats debt: stronger balance sheets sit closer to 52-week highs in all five pairs

Companies with more cash than debt are holding up better as inflation hits 3.7%, the 10-year Treasury yields about 5.1%, and US oil tops $100 a barrel. An analysis of five industry pairs found the stronger company sat closer to its 52-week high in every case. In four, debt made the difference. Microsoft, with $20 billion of net cash, is 1.8% below its high. CoreWeave, with $46 billion of net debt, is 56.3% below. Exxon is 0.4% below its high, against 35.6% for American Airlines. Nucor trails its high by 4.9%, while Celanese trails by 30.8%. Alphabet is down 14.4%, while Charter, with $96 billion of net debt, is down 57.0%. Costco and Nike are the exception: Nike's gap stems from falling sales, not debt.

CoreWeave shares fall 24% in a week as 15% debt yields and Fed rate hikes spark bubble fears

CoreWeave shares have fallen 24% in a week to their lowest level since the company's IPO last March. The drop followed a chart posted on X by venture investor Chamath Palihapitiya showing yields on the neocloud operator's debt have climbed as high as 15%. Rising rates hit CoreWeave hard. Fed Chair Kevin Warsh, who took over in May, is fighting inflation that has stayed above the 2% target for five years, and the Fed raised rates at its last meeting. Most of CoreWeave's debt is floating-rate, and it spends roughly a quarter of its revenue on debt service. Demand is strong. Second-quarter revenue rose 112% to $2.58 billion, and backlog stood at $104 billion at the end of June. But the company posted a net loss of $626 million, and it has $10.6 billion of debt due by the end of next year. Earnings are due November 11.

Cathie Wood buys CoreWeave despite $52B debt, calling AI fears no sign of a bubble

Cathie Wood's ARK Invest bought CoreWeave (CRWV) shares during a selloff, saying market fear shows AI is not in a bubble. Speaking in Seoul on October 16, 2026, she said the industry is "still in the parking lot before we entered the baseball game." CoreWeave shares are down 23.44% over the past week. The company's second-quarter revenue rose 112.3% to $2.575 billion, and its contracted backlog is near $104 billion. Goldman Sachs upgraded the stock to Buy. Debt is the concern. CoreWeave carries $51.608 billion in total debt, and its free cash flow was -$5.74 billion in the quarter. Its bonds have fallen into distressed territory, and the cost of insuring against default hit a record.
