What believers are saying

  • Pennex's Leetonia expansion added 175,000 square feet and 65 jobs.
  • Trump's June 8, 2026 aluminum duties reward domestic, U.S.-cast billet suppliers like Pennex.

What critics are saying

  • Pennex's automotive-heavy Leetonia plant ties revenue to OEM production cuts and model redesigns.
  • The 2026 Ohio Valley JV risks overrunning budgets and delaying 250-million-pound capacity.
  • If the JV stalls, Pennex loses its domestic billet moat against global extrusion rivals.
