Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 18 years old.
  • A master's degree in a counseling-related field is required, including professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, or social work.
  • The candidate must have an active Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners Associate Level license or higher, such as LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • The candidate must have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the agency's authorized behavioral health services and meet the unique needs of client populations, including children, and must meet requirements for a Behavioral Health Professional.
  • The candidate must have written and verbal communication skills and be able to perform conflict resolution.
  • The candidate must be able to develop routine reports and correspondence.
  • The candidate must know a Windows or Windows 365 environment and/or electronic health records systems.
  • The candidate must be able to provide culturally sensitive services.
  • The candidate must have or be able to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • The candidate must possess reliable transportation.
  • The candidate must maintain current Basic Life Support certification.
  • The candidate must provide a tuberculosis screening record and, as applicable, a PPD test, QuantiFERON test, or chest X-ray upon hire.
  • The candidate must provide vaccination or titer test documentation, or a qualified religious or medical exemption, for influenza, hepatitis B, MMR, Tdap, and varicella.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Provide counseling services and coordinate integrated care for children from birth to five years old and their families, potentially carrying a caseload of up to 35 children.
  • Advocate and collaborate to ensure children's developmental, academic, and social-emotional needs are addressed.
  • Work with children and their families to create individualized service plans, implement agreed-upon interventions, and monitor progress toward goals.
  • Promote child and family independence and assist with transition planning.
  • Work with the child and family team to prevent or appropriately respond to crises and minimize out-of-home placement.
  • Work closely with the Department of Child Safety, including completing a protracted assessment to inform goals and treatment planning for children and caregivers involved.
  • Navigate systems of care available to the community, particularly Birth to Five supportive services.
  • Complete screeners and assessments to ensure the comprehensive needs of each child are met.
  • Use developmental screeners, parent-child observational assessments, and evidence-based intervention models following specific Birth to Five training.
  • Provide services in the office, home, school, community, or virtually.
