Requirements

The candidate must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
The candidate must have one year of recent experience, meaning experience within the past two years, in an Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Medical/Surgical setting.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required and must remain valid throughout employment.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within twelve months of employment and maintained throughout employment.
The candidate must hold Phlebotomy Certification or Intravenous Therapy Certification.
Proficiency in the English language is required.
The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word.
The candidate must be able to employ problem-solving techniques and critical thinking.
The candidate must have effective interpersonal skills and be able to organize care and activities for multiple patients.

Responsibilities

The Staff Nurse administers total patient care in accordance with Emergency Nursing Standards of Practice.
The Staff Nurse provides leadership and clinical expertise in assessing, planning, and delivering emergency care.
The Staff Nurse provides specialized primary nursing care for acutely ill and injured trauma patients in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

Desired Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Successful completion of a Progressive Care Course or Progressive Care Certification is preferred.
