Requirements
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar scientific or technical field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Design automation systems that control a process or machine as intended.
- Apply instrumentation, control valves, motors and variable-frequency drives, control-system electrical design, programmable logic controller configuration, and distributed control system configuration to deliver automation systems.
- Configure programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems.
- Organize project data into manageable spreadsheets and databases.
- Develop human-machine interface graphics and configure supervisory control and data acquisition systems.
- Configure historians.
- Perform input/output checkout on installed control systems and document the checkout results.
- Provide post-commissioning support to the client's operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel.
- Travel to the client's site as required.
Desired Qualifications
- Co-op or intern experience in an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with or coursework in basic alternating-current and direct-current electric circuits.
- Familiarity with or coursework in computer programming concepts.
