Requirements
  • Have 5+ years experience with development using Ruby on Rails (additional languages and web frameworks are good too!).
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Are Interested in leading technical projects from inception to delivery.
  • Are obsessive about testing and quality of work
  • Proud to write testable, modular, maintainable, simple, and well-documented code
  • Are highly proficient with databases and SQL
  • Are experienced with web application and / or distributed systems development.
  • Understand modern web standards and best practices.
  • Have strong ActiveRecord skills, including knowing when to use SQL directly.
  • Are able to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Are comfortable with agile development.

Responsibilities
  • Lead by Example: Be active within your team and the company - participate in meetings; volunteer to lead initiatives; escalate questions or issues when necessary.
  • Working with Product, Design and other Engineers to deliver mission critical business roadmap projects from inception to delivery.
  • Help lead the refinement of the ContactMonkey engineering platform by leading critical engineering roadmap projects.
  • Solve challenging engineering problems as they arise.
  • Be a full participant in helping the engineering culture evolve as we grow.
  • While we expect you to focus most of your time on back end work, you may be asked to participate in some degree of front end work.
