Program Manager 3 - Logistics Capacity Planning, Cloud Logistics

Supply Chain ManagementPosted on Nov 3
Full-timeAtlanta, GA, USAIn-person

About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Five years of experience in program or project management is required.
  • Experience developing forecasting models and scripting in SQL is required.
  • Experience in logistics, logistics capacity planning, network modeling, constraint planning, or demand forecasting is required.

Responsibilities

  • Build network flow and distribution models across upstream suppliers, regional fulfillment hubs, and destination data centers; evaluate sourcing rule changes, lane realignments, and routing adjustments to assess downstream capacity impacts and balance network workload.
  • Establish and govern repeatable capacity planning processes, planning calendars, and forecast lock cycles from the ground up; embed warehouse and data center capacity plans into monthly S&OP/D&OP cycles, rolling commits, and quarterly and annual budgeting.
  • Own forecast health metrics, including plan-versus-actual variance and forecast accuracy and bias (WAPE, MAPE), and drive root-cause analysis and continuous calibration of the underlying models and parameters that enable constraint planning.
  • Design, build, and own forecasting and capacity models that enable constraint planning across global warehouses and data centers, translating upstream supply chain and deployment schedules into multi-horizon plans across storage space, dock throughput, and labor.
  • Own end-to-end capacity planning, transforming demand forecasts into executable operational plans by designing and owning quantitative models governing network flow, storage, throughput, and labor.
  • Use SQL, data pipelines, and analytical models to simulate sourcing changes, stress-test network capacity, and run scenarios to balance workloads.
  • Establish and lead planning cycles, including regional Demand-Supply Reviews with Operations and third-party logistics partners, integrating commitments into monthly S&OP/D&OP processes.
  • Partner with Engineering and Product teams as a subject matter expert to codify business logic and network constraints into automated, scalable planning tools.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience building and owning end-to-end quantitative logistics capacity, network, constraint, or forecasting models across warehousing, distribution centers, data center operations, or hardware supply chains.
  • Expertise in physical logistics capacity and distribution planning, modeling network flows, sourcing rule changes, storage footprint, dock throughput, and labor capacity across short- and long-term horizons.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, or statistical modeling tools to build capacity pipelines, simulate network and sourcing changes, analyze plan-versus-actual variances, and improve forecast accuracy (WAPE, MAPE, and bias).
  • Ability to define business logic, sourcing rules, and functional requirements that integrate and automate manual planning models into internal logistics capacity planning tooling.

About the Company

Runs Search and YouTube and builds Gemini AI

Google runs the world's most used search engine and free services such as YouTube, Android, and Gmail, and it builds the Gemini AI models that work inside them. In 2017, its researchers invented the transformer, the neural network design behind ChatGPT and most other AI chatbots. People use these services without paying, and Google earns most of its money from ads placed beside search results and YouTube videos. Businesses rent computing power and Gemini models through Google Cloud, and Google also sells subscriptions and Pixel phones. Larry Page and Sergey Brin founded Google in 1998 as Stanford PhD students; it is based in Mountain View, California, United States, and is the main business of parent company Alphabet.
