Requirements
  • A master's or doctoral degree in counseling and guidance, rehabilitation counseling, social work, vocational counseling, psychology, pastoral counseling, or a related field, plus either a practicum or internship with at least 1,000 hours of supervised direct service in a mental health setting or at least one year of documented clinical experience under the supervision of a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • A high level of understanding of confidentiality.
  • The ability to work under supervision and cooperatively with a treatment team.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid Illinois driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Successful completion of criminal, Department of Children and Family Services, and safe-driving background checks.
  • Successful completion of a tuberculosis test and drug screen.
  • Current proof of automobile insurance.
  • The ability to talk and hear clearly, possess clear close and distance vision, occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, frequently stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers to reach or feel, and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical assessments and develop client-centered treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy counseling to supported individuals.
  • Ensure billable services are documented and submitted in accordance with applicable rules.
  • Provide training to agency staff to support implementation of treatment plans.
  • Implement treatment plans as written and review and modify those treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in agency-wide functions, including intra-agency and inter-agency committees, when requested.
  • Complete case notes and other required documentation in compliance with regulations and agency policy.
  • Maintain files in accordance with applicable regulations and agency standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • An Illinois professional license.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid.
