About the Job

Requirements

  • Five to seven or more years in high-performing environments such as Chief of Staff roles, strategic operations, management consulting, venture capital or private equity, business development, or startup leadership positions.
  • Be AI-native, regularly explore whether AI can improve tasks, tinker with tools, automate workflows, and share findings.
  • Demonstrate success taking ambiguous, complex initiatives and driving them to completion.
  • Have strong systems thinking and process design capability, building scalable infrastructure rather than only executing tasks.
  • Have project management and coordination skills across multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities and timelines.
  • Have high proficiency with modern collaboration tools, including Google Workspace, Asana or Notion, and Slack, and intermediate to advanced comfort with AI-powered productivity tools.
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable briefs for different audiences.
  • Be comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating clarity from complexity.
  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Be committed to ethical practices and responsible business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the founder to translate priorities, initiatives, and strategic vision into sequenced plans with clear owners, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Own end-to-end execution of founder-level special projects and organizational initiatives, from scoping and planning through delivery and measurement.
  • Maintain focus and accountability across the founder's portfolio of priorities, proactively identifying conflicts, dependencies, and risks.
  • Prepare executive materials, including strategy briefs, decision memos, board materials, and organizational roadmaps, to drive alignment and enable decision-making.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the founder by pressure-testing ideas, surfacing options and trade-offs, and ensuring initiatives align with company strategy and capacity.
  • Build and continuously improve internal operating systems for scaling, including hiring infrastructure, resource allocation processes, team capacity planning, and cross-functional coordination mechanisms.
  • Design and implement hiring systems to support the company's 25–30+ person growth target in 2026, including interview frameworks, candidate evaluation rubrics, and onboarding processes.
  • Own resource allocation and capacity planning across the organization, ensuring the right people work on the right priorities at the right time and avoiding unsustainable workloads.
  • Establish organizational rhythms, including leadership meeting cadences, decision-making frameworks, communication protocols, and reporting structures.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then design and implement solutions that increase organizational velocity while maintaining quality.
  • Orchestrate complex cross-functional initiatives requiring coordination across leadership and multiple teams.
  • Coordinate and resolve problems when initiatives span departments or require trade-offs between competing priorities.
  • Represent the founder's office in key internal discussions and ensure the founder's priorities and perspective are understood.
  • Build strong working relationships across the organization and act in the company's best interest.
  • Ensure crisp internal communication on company strategy, priorities, and decisions by translating founder-level thinking into clear, actionable guidance for the broader team.
  • Prepare the founder for key meetings, presentations, and decisions with relevant context, background materials, and recommended talking points.
  • Maintain visibility on organizational health metrics and key initiatives, proactively surfacing issues and opportunities to leadership.
  • Potentially lead AI transformation projects with clients, manage CEOs at client organizations, drive sales initiatives at Human Agency, partner with Recruiting to find and close talent, manage client project delivery, drive value through data and analytics for clients, and lead go-to-market initiatives for clients.
  • Own special projects, drive organizational initiatives from concept to completion, and build infrastructure such as go-to-market motions, resource allocation, and operational rhythms.
  • Travel occasionally (10–25%) for company offsites, key events, and leadership meetings.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in high-growth startups, venture studios, or AI/technology companies.
  • A background in talent operations or organizational design.
  • Proven success driving business development in B2B environments.
  • Exposure to board-level strategy and operations.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant field.
