Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in generator engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a design/manufacturing liaison role is required.
  • Strong technical knowledge of large generator components and manufacturing processes in one or more of the following areas is required: rotor construction, armature core build, armature winding, armature lamination punching processes, or armature bar design and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical problem-solving efforts is required.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action methodologies is required.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, quality systems, and factory floor constraints is required.
  • The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical interface between generator design engineering and manufacturing on the factory floor.
  • Drive continuous, systematic improvements in generator design manufacturability while maintaining performance, quality, safety, and cost targets.
  • Engage early in the design process and participate in design reviews with a focus on manufacturing feasibility, producibility, and process capability.
  • Lead resolution of design-to-manufacturing technical issues across the generator rotor, armature core, armature winding, armature core steel punching/lamination, and armature bars.
  • Translate engineering requirements, drawings, and specifications into clear direction for manufacturing teams and support successful implementation.
  • Partner with shop operations to resolve nonconformances and deviations and lead root cause, corrective action, and preventive action efforts.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with design-to-manufacturing transfer.
  • Capture and feed manufacturing lessons learned back into design standards and product improvements.
  • Support new product introductions, design changes, and lean/continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable engineering, quality, and safety standards.
  • Provide direct technical support and oversight across all three shifts, as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • An advanced degree in engineering or a related field is desired.
  • Experience in a generator original equipment manufacturer, heavy electrical equipment, or similar industrial environment is desired.
  • Knowledge of insulation systems, rotor and armature assembly, and manufacturing quality controls is desired.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving methodologies is desired.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management, design change control, and configuration management is desired.
  • Prior hands-on experience working with shop floor teams and supplier technical interfaces is desired.

GE Vernova holds $176B backlog yet stock dips 5% as wind losses and spending increases spook investors

GE Vernova, General Electric's former energy division spun off in 2024, reported a $176.3 billion backlog in Q2 2026, up 37% year-over-year. The company's growth has been driven by expanding cloud, AI, and data centre markets requiring increased power infrastructure. Total orders surged 89% in the first half of 2026, with Power and Electrification segments rising 99% and 131% respectively. GE Vernova expects full-year revenue growth of 19% to 22%. Despite strong performance, shares declined 5% over the past month whilst the S&P 500 gained 3%. The pullback followed Q2 results where adjusted EBITDA and earnings per share missed Wall Street expectations due to increased capacity spending and additional losses in the Wind division.

GE Vernova books $176B backlog with 134% gas order growth as Eaton rides 65% data center surge

GE Vernova and Eaton released second-quarter 2026 results highlighting surging demand from AI infrastructure buildout. Vernova reported $5.50 billion in Power segment revenue with gas equipment orders up 134% organically. Vernova guided free cash flow to $11.5 billion to $12.5 billion, whilst Eaton raised its full-year earnings guidance to $13.40 to $13.60 per share.

GE Vernova deploys AirJoule water generation system at Frontier Campus research centre

GE Vernova raises 2026 guidance as revenue hits $11.1B, orders surge 88%
