Maximising efficiency for solar installers: how automation and CRM integration capture more renewable energy leads.

Maximising efficiency for solar installers: how automation and CRM integration capture more renewable energy leads. Generating solar leads isn't cheap. Between Google Ads, social media, referrals, SEO and comparison websites, solar companies can invest serious money getting homeowners to enquire. But generating the lead is only half the job. What happens next can determine whether that marketing investment turns into a solar installation - or disappears. A homeowner calls while your sales consultant is already speaking to another customer. Someone submits an enquiry after hours. Another prospect requests a quote but isn't followed up quickly enough. For busy solar installers, automation and CRM integration can help close these gaps. Solar leads can go cold quickly. Solar customers generally aren't researching one company. They're comparing installers, system sizes, battery options, warranties and prices. When someone finally makes an enquiry, there's a valuable window where they're actively considering their options. A missed call can therefore mean more than an unanswered phone. It can mean losing a customer you've already paid to attract. LANA's AI Receptionist can handle inbound calls, capture caller details and add appointments to a calendar, helping businesses respond when the initial enquiry happens rather than relying entirely on callbacks. Qualify leads before your sales team gets involved. Not every solar enquiry is at the same stage. One homeowner may simply be researching. Another could own their property, know their electricity usage and be ready to arrange a solar consultation. Getting some context upfront makes a huge difference. Automated call handling can help capture important initial details so salespeople aren't starting every conversation from zero. LANA also offers functionality designed to qualify calls and create jobs, giving businesses a clearer pathway from initial contact into their existing workflow. The result? Your sales team can spend more time selling and less time sorting through missed calls. Put lead information where your team actually needs it. Capturing someone's details is useful. Having those details automatically enter the system your team already uses is much better. Manual data entry creates unnecessary work and introduces opportunities for information to be forgotten, duplicated or entered incorrectly. LANA says its CRM can send enquiries and details into job management software, with integrations including ServiceM8, simPRO, AroFlo, Ascora and OpenSolar. For a solar company, that creates the potential for a much cleaner journey between marketing, phone enquiries, sales and operations. Stop wasting good marketing. Imagine spending hundreds or thousands of dollars generating leads, only to have calls reach voicemail because your team is busy. That's not really a lead-generation problem. It's a lead-management problem. Automation helps solar businesses get more value from the enquiries they're already producing. Rather than immediately increasing advertising spend, improving how existing leads are captured, organised and followed up can make the sales process considerably more efficient. Keep the pipeline moving after the first call. Solar sales rarely happen in one conversation. Customers may need an assessment, quote, system recommendation and time to consider their options. That's why the period after the initial enquiry matters just as much as the first phone call. LANA's broader lead-management platform is designed around capturing, nurturing and closing leads through automation, including reducing repetitive processes for staff. That gives growing solar businesses an opportunity to create a more consistent sales process without expecting staff to remember every individual task manually. Automation should support your salespeople, not replace them. Buying solar is still a significant household decision. Customers want knowledgeable people who can explain systems, answer technical questions and recommend the right solution for their property. Automation doesn't need to replace that expertise. Instead, it can handle the repetitive work surrounding it - capturing the enquiry, collecting details, organising information and helping ensure opportunities reach the right people. Your team can then focus on the part that matters: having quality conversations and converting suitable leads into installations. Turn more solar enquiries into real opportunities. A successful solar company doesn't just need more leads. It needs a better system for managing the leads it already has. LANA Software brings AI call handling, CRM functionality and workflow automation together to help businesses capture enquiries and reduce repetitive administration. See how LANA could work for your solar business. If your solar team is dealing with missed calls, scattered lead information or too much manual administration, it may be time to rethink the process. Book a demo or consultation with LANA Software and see how AI, automation and CRM integration could help your team capture more renewable-energy opportunities and build a more efficient sales pipeline.

Simpro Group expands into Canada with new AI R&D center in Montréal.

Simpro Group expands into Canada with new AI R&D center in Montréal. Published: August 31, 2026 New team to architect the agentic AI layer powering Simpro Group's Lightning, the company's operating platform for the field service trades Montréal, August 31, 2026 - Simpro Group, the global leader in the AI-first operating platform for the field service trades, today announced the opening of a new research and development center in downtown Montréal. Backed by an investment of tens of millions of dollars, the center will house the team responsible for the agentic AI layer that powers Simpro's entire operating platform and is expected to create up to 100 jobs over the next two years. The Montréal team will define the foundations of the company's AI operating system, Simpro Group's Lightning - from the orchestration to the planning and runtime layers that allow AI agents to reason and act autonomously across all the job functions field service trades businesses need. The work pushes the frontier of applied AI in vertical SaaS, moving to an operating model in which autonomous agents become the primary interface between field service trade businesses, their operations and their customers. "Our expansion into Montréal marks a pivotal milestone in Simpro Group's journey to revolutionize the field service trades industry. We are investing tens of millions of dollars into this new R&D center because we believe Montréal is the premier destination for the world-class applied AI talent we need to scale our vision," said Fred Voccola, Chairman and CEO of Simpro Group. "This strategic move allows us to build cutting-edge, high-velocity solutions that put breakthrough innovation directly into the hands of our 130,00+ users worldwide." Simpro Group's Lightning is a purpose-built, AI-native operating platform for the field service trades, designed to increase profitability and boost efficiency without multiplying headcount. Unlike typical AI offerings from competitors, Lightning was architected from the ground up to serve a foundational, unified AI-first operating layer across three of the company's field service management solutions: Simpro Lightning (Australia, New Zealand, North America), AroFlo Lightning (Australia and New Zealand) and Big Change Lightning (UK and Europe). Montréal was selected for its deep pool of world-class applied AI talent and its concentration of leading research institutions. The city's diversity and global outlook also provide an ideal environment to develop intelligent, adaptable AI solutions across a wide range of verticals and operational contexts. "Montréal is a premier hub for world-class applied AI talent, and standing up our agentic platform team here is the most strategic investment we can make for our customers," said Tchakmakjian, Chief Product and Business Development Officer of Simpro Group. "The Montréal team is building the core intelligence of our operating platform, autonomous agents that eliminate administrative friction and redefine profitability for the field service trades." Tchakmakjian, an accomplished software executive and entrepreneur with multiple exits in deep tech and a proud alumnus of Polytechnique Montréal and McGill University, will lead Montréal strategy and operations. "I've built companies from Montréal with international success throughout my career and have been involved in the AI community here for the last 10 years. The talent and the environment here are second to none, especially for bringing challenging new solutions from concept to market with high velocity," added Tchakmakjian. "I'm also looking forward to building strong partnerships with local AI and tech institutions in Montréal and bringing some of the most talented applied AI engineers into our team." The project is supported by Montréal International, the city's economic development agency. "We are proud to support an innovative company that meets the needs of our local trades sector while delivering a market-ready AI solution to clients worldwide. Simpro Group's new R&D center is yet another compelling example of Montréal's capacity to attract strategic, high-impact investments," said Stéphane Paquet, President and CEO of Montréal International. Simpro Group launches RAIN with AI-powered features at 10X traditional development speed

Simpro Group has announced RAIN, a major release of AI-powered features and enhancements for its field service management platforms. Built on the company's Lightning platform with Cooper AI at its core, RAIN delivers new capabilities at roughly 10 times the speed of traditional development cycles. The release includes dozens of new features across Simpro, BigChange, and AroFlo platforms, including an intelligent AI scheduler, native sales pipeline and CRM tools, AI-validated photo capture, and smart safety forms. Over 100 AI-infused enhancements and hundreds of customer-requested improvements are being rolled out.
