What believers are saying

  • November 2024’s $125 million round funded commercialization and magnet scaling into 2026.
  • May 6, 2026 Infinity Fusion Consortium expands Britain’s first private fusion plant opportunity.
  • June 2026 Furukawa Electric collaboration de-risks UK HTS tape supply for magnet production.

What critics are saying

  • Commonwealth Fusion Systems and Helion have bigger capital, faster timelines, and customer PPAs.
  • Tokamak Energy still lacks a commercial fusion plant; revenue depends on 2026-2029 government contracts.
  • If ST80-HTS slips, TE Magnetics becomes a niche supplier and fusion leadership evaporates.

What makes Tokamak Energy unique

  • Tokamak Energy combines fusion R&D with TE Magnetics commercial sales in 2026.
  • April 14, 2026 STEP contract confirms UK leadership in HTS magnet systems.
  • ST40 and Ridgway Machines give Tokamak Energy in-house test-and-manufacture integration.
