Atira and AMFG: two quoting AI bets, two different answers to the 'garbage data' problem.

Atira and AMFG: two quoting AI bets, two different answers to the 'garbage data' problem. Two AI quoting tools, two approaches: Atira tackles unstructured RFQs, AMFG brings transparency to CAD-based estimating. What factory owners need to know. tech-spotlight quoting ai industrial-smes erp-mes-integration digital-transformation AI quoting is having a moment. Two announcements this month - one a $17.5M funding round for a Munich startup, one a product update from a CAD-based estimating vendor - reveal something more useful than the hype: quoting AI only works if it can reach the data and tacit knowledge your factory actually runs on. The two products take opposite paths to solve that. What it is. Two distinct AI quoting tools, aimed at different manufacturing realities. Atira is a Munich-based platform that launched commercially in November 2025, that reads incoming bid requests, extracts requirements, flags what the company can and cannot meet, and drafts technical documentation, configurations, and pricing (Fortune). AMFG is estimating and quoting software for high-mix, low-volume CNC machine shops and custom part makers. Its new Machining Strategy feature surfaces the machining strategies, setups, toolpaths, and cycle times behind each estimate rather than producing a single opaque number (CTE Magazine). How it works. Atira deploys AI agents that parse unstructured RFQ documents and flag unmet specifications that a document alone can't answer (Fortune). AMFG works from the other end: it ingests 3D CAD models and 2D drawings and generates cost and time estimates with full transparency into how those figures were reached - showing the machining strategy, setups, toolpaths, and cycle times so estimators can understand, validate, and adjust the output (CTE Magazine). Who it's for. Atira's named customers include ABB E-mobility, Chiron Group, and Robel (Fortune). AMFG targets high-mix, low-volume CNC milling and turning shops and custom part manufacturers (CTE Magazine). In practical terms: Atira fits complex-bid manufacturers - rail, EV infrastructure, capital equipment - where a quote takes weeks. AMFG fits job shops where estimators quote dozens of custom parts a week from customer CAD files. What it enables. Chiron Group reports processing inbound quote requests 80% faster; Robel reports saving 95 hours of sales and engineering time per quotation (Fortune). AMFG's Machining Strategy is designed to give estimators visibility into how a quote was built, supporting more consistent and defensible pricing - and helping less experienced estimators work at a higher level of accuracy (CTE Magazine). Atira cites a $128 billion annual labor market in industrial sales engineering (Fortune) - a scale that explains the venture interest. The practical read for factory owners: these tools succeed where the underlying data exists. AMFG needs clean CAD and readable drawings. Atira needs experts who will actually answer when the system flags gaps. If your quoting bottleneck is a senior engineer who keeps pricing rules in his head and never writes them down, no AI closes that gap on its own. Atira's leadership frames sales engineering as one of the largest workflows software hasn't yet automated - the scalability comes from structure, not the model. Atira's funding and customer detail: Fortune, 3 September 2026. AMFG's Machining Strategy release: CTE Magazine. If you want to see how AI quoting fits your shop's real data and tacit knowledge, Moredevs can show you in one week with your real data.

Atira raises $15 million for AI agents in industrial sales.

Atira raises $15 million for AI agents in industrial sales. Accel and UVC Partners are backing Atira. The Munich-based AI startup is receiving $15 million and aims to use a multi-agent system to automate one of the most complex processes in industrial B2B sales. News by Marc Nemitz · München, 03. September 2026 The Munich-based AI startup Atira has closed a seed funding round totaling $15 million. The round was led by Accel, and UVC Partners has invested again. The Munich-based investor had already participated in the pre-seed round with $2.5 million. Atira is developing a multi-agent system designed to automate complex bidding processes for industrial companies. With the new capital, Atira plans to expand its go-to-market team, accelerate product development, and drive international expansion. Since its commercial launch in 2025, the company says it has already acquired more than 15 customers. UVC Partners invests again in Atira. This seed round significantly increases the total capital invested in Atira. Accel is the lead investor in the current round. UVC Partners is investing again, having already provided $2.5 million during the pre-seed financing round. In total, UVC Partners has invested $17.5 million across the pre-seed and current seed rounds, although the current $15 million funding round is not funded solely by UVC Partners. The new capital is primarily intended to be allocated to three areas: expanding sales, further developing the platform, and international expansion. AI aims to shorten quotation processes that take weeks. Atira addresses an area of industrial sales that, despite the digitization of many business processes, remains heavily reliant on manual labor. For complex and custom-manufactured products, weeks or even months can pass between a request for a quote and the final proposal. Sales engineers, technical experts, legal departments, and commercial teams must review specifications, configure solutions, assess risks, and prepare customized proposal documents. A significant portion of the knowledge required for this is not exclusively stored in CRM or ERP systems. Experience from previous projects and proposals is particularly relevant. "The knowledge that actually leads to the success of a deal comes from the company's own proposal history - a memory that grows with every project," says Benjamin Erhart, General Partner at UVC Partners. Atira positions itself between CRM and ERP. This is exactly where Atira comes in. The company is developing an agent-based orchestration layer between CRM and ERP designed to coordinate the commercial proposal process and, in some cases, execute it autonomously. To achieve this, Atira relies not on a single AI agent, but on a multi-agent system. Different AI agents take on various tasks within the process and work toward a common goal. The platform is designed to first analyze and evaluate incoming quote requests. It then assists in configuring a suitable solution and in creating technical and commercial quote content. In this way, Atira specifically addresses so-called requests for quotation (RFQs), in which customers submit detailed requirements for a product or project. Quotation history becomes corporate knowledge. A central component of the approach is the use of existing knowledge. Previous quotes, technical decisions, and empirical findings should not remain with individual employees or in scattered documents, but should be made available for future processes. This point is particularly relevant for industrial companies. The more products are tailored to individual customer requirements, the more difficult it becomes to map sales processes using standardized software solutions. Atira therefore does not seek to replace CRM or ERP systems. Instead, the platform is designed to bridge the gap between customer inquiries, technical engineering, and commercial proposals. This approach follows a broader trend in enterprise AI: AI systems are increasingly being used not only as assistants but also to orchestrate entire workflows across different enterprise systems. 15 industrial customers since 2025. Since its commercial launch in 2025, Atira has, according to its own figures, acquired more than 15 customers. These include medium-sized industrial companies such as Robel, Chiron Group, Theegarten-Pactec, and Fette Compacting. In addition, the startup collaborates with international corporations that generate annual revenue of more than one billion dollars. According to Atira, early customers have reduced the time between an inquiry and a finalized quote by up to 80 percent using the platform. The software is designed not only to accelerate individual work steps but also to standardize quoting processes and make existing corporate knowledge available over the long term. As a result, engineering teams should spend less time manually compiling information and be able to focus more on the actual development of technical solutions. From AI assistant to agent system for industry. Atira is thus operating in an increasingly competitive segment of the enterprise AI market. While generative AI was initially used primarily for creating and summarizing content, the focus is increasingly shifting toward specialized agent systems capable of handling entire business processes. For Atira, therefore, the key factor is likely to be how deeply the platform can be integrated into existing corporate structures. Industrial bidding processes, in particular, are complex, company-specific, and closely tied to technical expertise. The first 15-plus customers and the time savings reported by the company provide initial indications of demand. With $15 million in new capital and Accel and UVC Partners as investors, Atira must now demonstrate whether it can develop an internationally scalable software business from this foundation.

Atira raises $17.5M to bring AI orchestration to industrial sales.

Atira raises $17.5M to bring AI orchestration to industrial sales. Atira develops an AI sales engineering platform that helps industrial companies process complex RFQs, configure solutions and generate bid documentation and proposals. Munich-based AI company Atira has raised $15 million in seed funding to expand its platform for automating industrial sales engineering. The round was led by Accel, with participation from UVC, Fortino, Booom and industry investors including Ann-Kristin Achleitner, Marc Bitzer, Markus Flik and Celonis co-founder and co-CEO Bastian Nominacher. Atira also disclosed a previously unannounced $2.5 million pre-seed round. Founded in Munich in November 2024 by Florian Diegruber and August DuMont Schütte, Atira is developing an AI orchestration platform for industrial sales engineering, with a focus on companies selling complex, built-to-order products. Responding to a customer request for quotation (RFQ) can take weeks or several months, requiring sales engineers, technical specialists, legal teams and commercial teams to review extensive specifications and prepare customised technical and commercial documentation. Atira estimates that industrial sales engineering accounts for more than $128 billion in annual labour spending globally, with much of the work still relying on manual processes and expertise distributed across different teams and systems. Atira's platform works across existing customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and configure, price, quote (CPQ) systems. It processes incoming customer requests, identifies and comments on relevant requirements, and generates outputs including technical documentation, configuration proposals and pricing options. By connecting existing systems with historical project information and employee expertise, the platform is designed to reduce manual handoffs and shorten the process from customer request to proposal. Sales engineering is one of the largest workflows in manufacturing that software has never truly automated. Today, critical commercial expertise is scattered across people, documents and disconnected systems. Atira is changing that by helping industrials turn expertise into a scalable capability and bringing AI into one of the most important processes in industrial organizations, said Florian Diegruber, CEO and co-founder of Atira. The new funding will be used to grow Atira's go-to-market team, accelerate product development and support international expansion. The company also plans to extend its product into adjacent commercial workflows, including pricing intelligence, aftersales and supplier coordination. Follow the developments in the technology world.
