Prysmian to acquire Atkore for $95 per share in $3.8B electrical infrastructure deal

Prysmian S.p.A. has agreed to acquire Atkore Inc., a leading manufacturer of electrical infrastructure products, for $95.00 per share in cash. The all-cash transaction represents an enterprise value of approximately $3.8 billion. The purchase price represents a premium of approximately 30% to Atkore's closing share price of $72.96 on 31 July 2026. Both companies' boards of directors have unanimously approved the transaction. The combined entity will create a one-stop shop for electrical infrastructure solutions in North America, expanding Prysmian's product offerings and exposure to structural growth trends in electrification and data centres. Prysmian will fund the acquisition through a mix of debt, including hybrid bonds, and equity. The transaction is targeted to close by year-end 2026, subject to Atkore shareholder approval, regulatory approvals, and other customary closing conditions.

Prysmian eyes $100M Texas copper mill as data center boom fuels US expansion

Prysmian, the world's largest cable maker, is considering building a new copper mill in Texas with an investment of $100 million to $200 million, driven by surging demand from data centres and electrification. The Italian company may decide within a year on the facility at its McKinney site near Dallas, which would double or triple output. Regional head Andrea Pirondini said the company is also pursuing bolt-on acquisitions in the US, its top priority market after investing over $6 billion there in the past three years. Data centre growth is offsetting sluggish housing demand, with the sector seeing double-digit expansion. Prysmian sources most copper domestically and warned that proposed tariffs on refined copper imports would be disruptive, as the US lacks sufficient smelting capacity.
