NOC Engineer
About the job
- At least 4 years of experience.
- A technical graduate degree is required.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching is required.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPN, and NAT is required.
- Hands-on exposure to Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, or Cisco Firepower firewalls is required.
- Understanding of firewall rules and policies, IDS/IPS concepts, site-to-site and remote-access VPNs, and network security fundamentals is required.
- Monitor network and server alerts using NOC tools in a 24x7 shift-support environment.
- Perform Level 1 troubleshooting for network, firewall, and Windows Server incidents.
- Monitor and manage firewalls, VPNs, and security devices.
- Respond to alerts involving firewall health and traffic, network latency, packet loss, outages, security threats, and policy violations.
- Perform firewall rule validation and implementation according to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor VPNs and perform basic VPN troubleshooting.
- Escalate unresolved issues to Level 2 and Level 3 teams with proper documentation.
- Follow incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Maintain accurate ticket updates and shift handover notes.
- Ensure service-level agreement adherence and timely incident resolution.
- Support routine checks, backups, and compliance monitoring.
