Requirements
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required.
  • Knowledge of applying for and obtaining relevant construction permits and licenses is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and documentation skills are required.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under aggressive timelines and contribute positively in a team environment is required.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a construction-related project management field of study from an accredited college is required.
  • Professional Engineer licensure or significant relevant project management experience is required.
  • Five to ten years of project management experience in a professional environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise contract administration, the design process, permit submittals, change orders, submittals, procurement, project financial projections, and schedule requirements.
  • Manage program development, budgets, schedules, and project teams for assigned projects.
  • Provide technical knowledge and expertise regarding design and construction management requirements to clients and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain master project management plans, including full project schedules and budgets.
  • Identify and resolve project risks, performance issues, and anticipated challenges proactively.
  • Establish project controls and procedures.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with designers and contractors.
  • Ensure project documentation is prepared, reviewed, approved, and maintained according to project standards and procedures.
  • Assist the client in communicating with management, staff, the community, and news media.
  • Conduct project-based communications with internal and external project teams.
  • Establish, execute, and oversee project procurement and bid processes.
  • Manage design teams and assist with design reviews, design cost reviews, constructability reviews, value engineering studies, and obtaining building permits.
  • Provide construction management and observation, including coordinating and monitoring general contractor activities, architects, engineers, partners, lending sources, and financing sources.
  • Review and recommend payment requests and contract modifications for consultants and contractors.
  • Prepare regular update reports for clients.
  • Identify appropriate changes in scope, validate the impact of changes, and manage change documentation.
  • Ensure project closeout is completed correctly and timely.
  • Represent owners through client management and identify opportunities for additional project work.
  • Coordinate with Business Development personnel to pursue additional opportunities with clients and owners.
Desired Qualifications
  • Mechanical experience is a plus.
