BCI Burke introduces the 360 Loop Connection. May 4, 2026 BCI Burke announces the introduction of the 360 Loop(R) Connection (patent pending), a thoughtfully designed ground-level pathway that advances inclusive design and strengthens the impact of the 360 Loop Collection. More than a connector, the 360 Loop Connection allows more children to move independently while playing together with peers and caregivers, supporting continuous and confident movement throughout the playspace. Designed to link play events, enhance imaginative games and provide transfer access for children who use mobility devices, the 360 Loop Connection extends play beyond the slide exit and into shared pathways that encourage exploration and flow throughout the space. Children instinctively use the connection to move from one play event to the next without returning to the ground, creating a natural rhythm of movement that feels intuitive and independent. As part of the 360 Loop Collection, the 360 Loop Connection enhances a play experience built around independence and choice. The collection combines transfer stations, ergonomic climbers and slides with extended runouts into a cohesive play experience. Together, these elements create a continuous loop of play - transfer, climb, slide and move on - empowering more children, including those transferring from mobility devices, to take control of their play and set their own pace. "The 360 Loop Connection reinforces the idea that great design removes barriers rather than calling attention to them," said Bart Mayer, lead industrial designer at BCI Burke. "By focusing on flow, access and shared movement, we create play environments where children play side by side and inclusion feels natural." The addition of the 360 Loop Connection allows designers and communities to create more cohesive, accessible outdoor environments that support physical development, confidence and social connection. By closing the space between play events, it ensures independence continues throughout the playspace rather than ending at a single moment of play. With the expansion of the 360 Loop Collection through the 360 Loop Connection, Burke continues to advance its commitment to intentional, inclusive design and creating outdoor spaces where movement is for everyone.

BCI Burke introduces Nucleus Strive, an inclusive play system designed for any outdoor playspace. April 14, 2026 BCI Burke announces the launch of Nucleus(R) Strive(TM), a compact, configurable play system designed to bring inclusive, developmentally rich play to parks, schools and community spaces of all sizes. Intentionally designed to support children of varied abilities, Nucleus Strive combines multiple climbers, parallel pathways and graduated challenges within a smaller footprint. As communities continue to grow their outdoor spaces and prioritize inclusive design, Nucleus Strive offers a flexible solution that balances inclusion with meaningful physical challenge and sensory play opportunities. The system meets children where they are while encouraging movement, independence and shared play experiences that support long-term development. Designed to maximize play value in any space, Nucleus Strive uses layered routes, parallel pathways and purposeful spacing to expand movement and exploration. Vertical and diagonal circulation opportunities create clear flow and intuitive wayfinding while supporting varied play experiences across diverse abilities. By balancing inclusion, challenge and efficient use of space, Nucleus Strive supports cohesive playspace design and helps more children move, explore and grow together. Nucleus Strive was designed to help designers and communities deliver inclusive play without compromising challenge," said Jakob Wischstadt, Senior Industrial Designer at BCI Burke. "It offers a versatile system that maximizes play value, supports inclusion goals, varies challenges and fits sites where space is limited." Nucleus Strive features a range of thoughtfully designed climbing components, including the Strive Inclusive Climber, which integrates purposeful hand supports to facilitate reverse transfer and independent movement for children who use mobility devices. The Strive Inclusive Switchback Climber provides a fast, accessible route to a 96-inch platform through ergonomic handholds and integrated rest points, supporting a wide range of users in a shared play experience. Additional components such as the Strive Angled Net Climber and Strive Tri Climber introduce open-ended movement, four-point climbing and varied access points that promote strength, coordination, spatial awareness and problem-solving. Walkways and parallel play paths allow children to choose their own routes while remaining engaged alongside peers, supporting social development in a low-pressure, child-directed environment. Designed for configuration flexibility, Nucleus Strive allows designers to combine components in numerous ways to meet site, budget and community needs while supporting sensory, cognitive, physical and social-emotional development. By integrating inclusive access, purposeful challenge and efficient use of space, Nucleus Strive helps communities create play environments where more children can climb, explore and grow together.
