- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
- Maintain accounts receivable records so that aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared.
- Communicate discrepancies to management, identify slow-paying funders and insurance payers, and recommend collection candidates.
- Identify areas for performance improvement to help streamline the accounts receivable process.
- Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting funders, insurance payers, clients, or individuals served by telephone, email, and mail.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and individuals served by communicating about past-due accounts.
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting and comply with national and local financial requirements.
- Perform billing and collection responsibilities as required and remain adaptable to organizational and departmental needs.
- Assist the director with billing and accounts receivable research, reporting, and projects.
- Support early resolution of billing issues, including rejected claims, to ensure payment of eligible claims.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, individuals served, funders, and insurance representatives about coverage, eligibility, client responsibility, balance resolution, and related services.
- Identify, research, and resolve differences between payments and expected payments from third-party payers.
- Evaluate, understand, and explain insurance explanations of benefits to support clients' and individuals' understanding of coverage and potential financial exposure.
- Maintain required training certifications and comply with state-regulated licensing, regulatory accreditation, and mandatory requirements.
- Cooperate with Bancroft, the Department of Human Services, the Division of Developmental Disabilities, licensing or state agencies, and local municipalities during requested inspections and investigations.
- A certificate or associate's degree in Health Care Reimbursement is preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.

Bancroft joins 9th Annual Autism Play Date. August 12, 2026. * home * blog * news * Bancroft joins 9th Annual Autism Play Date. As a community partner and sponsor, Bancroft helped bring families together for a superhero-themed day of fun and resources. Bancroft joined families, advocates, and community partners from across the Philadelphia region on August 8, 2026 for the 9th Annual Autism Play Date at Smith Memorial Playground. This marked Bancroft's second year participating in the free community event, which brings families together for an afternoon of fun and access to resources and support. This year's superhero-themed event, "AusomeCon: Where Every Hero Belongs," drew more than 1,400 registrations and featured live entertainment, games and activities, food, superhero characters, face painting, and more. Bancroft served as a community partner and sponsor for the event, alongside Smith Memorial Playground & Playhouse, Councilmember Kendra Brooks, and the Center for Autism Research at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Together, the organizations helped create a family-friendly event that combined fun and activities with access to resources for families throughout the region. Bancroft team members were on hand throughout the afternoon, hosting a resource table where they connected with parents and families and shared information about Bancroft's programs and services for children and adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Kristina Swindle, Senior Vice President at Bancroft, also participated in the event alongside Councilmember Brooks, former Councilmember Derek Green, City Commissioner Omar Sabir, and Jamiel Owens, Family Relations Coordinator at the Center for Autism Research at CHOP. A highlight of the day was the recognition of seven "Heroes of the Disability Community," who received Philadelphia City Council citations: Shawn Devon Aleong, Dana Jacobs, Eric Williams, Laura Sibbald McAnulty, Mary Beth Morgan, Monica Fielder, and Mary Kachline. Bancroft was grateful to help bring the Autism Play Date to Philadelphia families for a second year and to be part of a day focused on connection, resources, and celebrating the region's autism community. Bancroft's mural continues to grow thanks to Perkins Center for the Arts and TD Bank Charitable Foundation. The mural at Bancroft's Jacob Schaefer Center (JSC) in Cherry Hill continues to evolve. With the installation of its third phase, another section has been added to the colorful outdoor artwork that has been taking shape over the past several years. Generously supported by the TD Bank Charitable Foundation and designed by Ali. M. Williams, a renowned Philadelphia-based artist, the mural is the capstone of the Arts in Healing program for adults with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) at Bancroft, a successful partnership with the Perkins Center for the Arts, a fellow nonprofit rooted in the South Jersey community. Linda Miller, Bancroft's Therapeutic Activities Coordinator, helped bring the design to life, leading the installation from concept to completion. "From concept to installation, a mural of this size took several years," Linda says. "The goal was to have something lasting to look at and to beautify the day program garden space through all the seasons. Bancroft owns the building so Bancroft Neurohealth Corp. were able to use this large space to decorate and inspire the individuals who come here for day programs." Additional elements of the artwork were created by the individuals in its day programs, who brought the mural to life with their own drawings and painting skills. "When we did the concept, we asked our individuals what kind of things they'd like to see. We had them draw and paint shapes for this portion of the mural, and hopefully will want to be a part of the final stage of this four-part project." Linda explains. Today, together with the surrounding gardens, the mural has helped create a vibrant outdoor space that brings color, creativity, and joy to the individuals who spend time there each day. Through enriching experiences like its Arts in Healing program, Bancroft celebrates each person's unique talents, and empowers individuals to shine, find inspiration, and pursue their fullest potential. More than a mural, this project has been a journey of creativity, collaboration, and shared experiences that will continue to brighten the Jacob Schaefer Center for years to come. This project was made possible through the collaboration of many talented staff, artists, and community partners. Cherry Hill, NJ - Bancroft has named Brian Hancock Acting Chief Executive Officer. Hancock, who has served as Chief Operating Officer since 2022, will continue to provide leadership and oversight across the organization's programs and services. "The Board has tremendous confidence in Brian and his leadership," said Heather Steinmiller, Chair of Bancroft's Board of Trustees. "Our commitment to our staff, the individuals we support, and their families remains unchanged. Bancroft is strong, stable, and focused on its mission, and Brian is well-positioned to lead the organization." Throughout his career, Hancock has focused on improving the safety, well-being, and outcomes of vulnerable and marginalized children, adults, families, and communities. Before joining Bancroft, he held senior leadership positions across New Jersey's health and human services sector, helping organizations strengthen programs and services for children, adults, families, and communities with complex needs. Hancock also served as President of the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Association of Community Providers and has been involved in humanitarian and advocacy work supporting at-risk and incarcerated youth across the United States and internationally.
