Shoplazza, an AI-native commerce operating system, is working with TikTok to support its new agentic commerce shopping tools. The aim is to shorten the path from product discovery to purchase. TikTok introduced Buy Direct and Shopping Assistant on October 5, naming Shoplazza as a commerce and payment partner. Buy Direct lets users buy from brands inside TikTok without being sent to an external storefront. Brands remain the Merchant of Record. "TikTok's new shopping experiences make it easier to buy while interest is fresh," said Chao Xu, director at Shoplazza. The partners already work together. In July, Shoplazza joined TikTok for Business's first Agentic Hub partner group.

Data centres are now seeking a record number of employees - Kouvola has the most jobs, right after the capital region. At the job search service Duunitori, the number of data centre jobs has increased almost eightfold in a year. In Kouvola, there have been the most data centre-related jobs available this year, right after Helsinki and Espoo. This is evident from Duunitori's open job advertisements. According to Duunitori's communications director Aino Salonen, Kymenlaakso clearly stands out in the statistics. This year, about 500 advertisements for data centre jobs have been published in the region. - More than 10 per cent of all data centre jobs are located in Kymenlaakso, which is really a lot in relation to the population, says Salonen. TikTok's data centre is rising in Koria, Kouvola, and in Hamina Google is continuing to expand its data centre. Data centres are also coming to Ummeljoki, Kuusankoski and Voikkaa in Kouvola. A huge spike in the autumn. In September, a record number of advertisements for data centre jobs were published on Duunitori. The number of advertisements across the country increased from a little over one hundred a year earlier to more than 800 advertisements. The number of job advertisements increased in September in Kymenlaakso by as much as 27 per cent, while growth at the national level was only a couple of per cent. No single operator is behind the job advertisements in Kymenlaakso; more than 70 different employers were looking for people for data centre-related jobs. - Data centre jobs almost entirely explain the growth in job advertisements in Kymenlaakso this year, Salonen states. The construction sector as the engine. Data centres are also visible in the statistics of the South-East Finland Vitality Centre. There has been a particular impact on jobs in the construction sector. - Compared with a year ago, there are more than 80 per cent more construction jobs available, says Edla Inkilä, forecasting specialist at the Vitality Centre. Experts have also criticised the calculations presented by data centre companies about the employment impact of the centres as overly optimistic. The construction phase of data centres employs people, but once the centres are completed, the need for labour decreases. According to Edla Inkilä of the Vitality Centre, construction jobs at data centres are often project-based and fixed-term. During last summer, more and more permanent employees have been sought for data centres in Kymenlaakso. - For example, jobs related to maintenance and operational development will remain more permanent, estimates Inkilä. The Vitality Centres will publish the official September employment statistics next week. Then we will see whether they confirm the huge spike Duunitori registered in data centre jobs in the autumn. - The feeling is that job advertising will continue to grow further, as companies are simultaneously seeking both construction-phase workers and more permanent staff, estimates Edla Inkilä.
