Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Hold current Washington State Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
  • Hold a valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect resident rights regarding resident and personnel information.
  • Have strong knowledge of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act laws and related regulations.
  • Submit to and be cleared under Washington State background check requirements before contact with patients or residents.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise staff, monitor patients, implement treatments, develop patient care plans for long-term needs, administer medications, follow up with families, and provide quality care to residents and patients.
  • Provide clinical care in compliance with current federal and state guidelines and company regulations.
  • Provide patient care to facility residents and patients.
  • Document care performed and observations of resident status promptly in the clinical record using required clinical documentation guidelines and applicable regulations.
  • Communicate with the resident's physician.
  • Complete nursing documentation, including assessments, orders, progress notes, flow sheets, consents, and assigned tasks, ensuring that it accurately reflects services required and provided.
  • Administer medications as ordered, including the next scheduled dose following admission or readmission, and notify the supervisor when medications are unavailable.
  • Prepare, administer, and document medications as prescribed.
  • Observe and report resident responses to medication.
  • Identify and promptly communicate adverse drug reactions.
  • Initiate enteral or parenteral therapy as ordered.
  • Maintain narcotic records accurately.
  • Order or arrange for ordering of pharmaceuticals.
  • Notify physicians of automatic stop orders.
  • Complete recapitulated physician-order reviews as assigned.
  • Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments with residents.
  • Direct and administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance for assigned shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's clinical policies and procedures.
  • Follow the Nurse Practice Act, company standards, policies and procedures, and sound nursing judgment.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Six months of experience in a long-term care environment is preferred.
