What believers are saying

  • Doug Ferguson became CEO in June 2025 after steering North American realignment.
  • Joerns sold the Netherlands unit to Avance Care on August 20, 2026.
  • That exit concentrates capital on North America, where management sees greatest opportunity.

What critics are saying

  • Selling the U.K. and Netherlands units shrinks geographic diversification to North America.
  • Joerns relies on aging post-acute bed and lift categories facing heavy price pressure.
  • Any failed North American pivot after 2026 leaves Joerns too narrow to recover.

What makes Joerns Healthcare unique

  • Joerns retains proprietary designs, IP, and manufacturing after 2026 Netherlands divestiture.
  • EasyCare, UltraCare, Hoyer, Dolphin, and P.R.O. Matt anchor its post-acute portfolio.
  • Its 1889 heritage and vertically integrated model still signal durable provider trust.
