Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of experience.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Level I Certification.
  • Portable nuclear gauge safety training certification.
  • Understanding of the Proctor Compaction Test and USCS Soil Classification.
  • Trained and demonstrated competency in One-Point Proctor testing in the field, with validation required.
  • A valid driver’s license and eligibility to be insured under applicable company policies.
  • Ability to pass relevant tests and obtain valid signatures.
  • Ability to create accurate and confidential test records and prepare understandable reports.
  • Ability to use computers and common software applications and learn company-specific software.
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle safely and follow company guidelines.
  • Ability to work night shifts, weekends, early mornings, changing schedules, and occasional out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders and scaffolding, and maneuver through construction sites and excavations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, including over the telephone.
Responsibilities
  • Review civil and structural plan specifications and identify sections applicable to the scope of work.
  • Perform construction tests, inspections, and observations according to project requirements with some supervision.
  • Prepare, collect, and test samples of soil, concrete, grout, mortar, and asphalt.
  • Conduct field observations and document construction activities and test results.
  • Submit daily field reports documenting testing, inspections, and field observations.
  • Document and communicate non-conforming items to designated project supervision.
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate assigned equipment according to applicable codes and standards.
  • Transport, operate, and care for a nuclear density gauge in accordance with radiation safety requirements.
  • Clearly identify, verbally communicate, and document test results and activities.
