About the company

O

Oxford Quantum Circuits

View

Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) is a UK quantum computing company that builds superconducting quantum systems using its Coaxmon architecture and offers Quantum Computing as a Service through cloud access and colocated data centers. Its products work by using superconducting qubits implemented with the Coaxmon design, allowing users to run quantum programs remotely via a cloud interface or at partner data centers, with plans for larger TITAN systems aimed at fault-tolerant computing. What sets OQC apart from competitors is its specific Coaxmon architecture and its focus on scaling up infrastructure across international locations, backed by a large Series C funding round and strategic investors, to push toward practical, fault-tolerant quantum computing. The company’s goal is to expand its global infrastructure and develop next-generation TITAN quantum systems to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computing at scale.

What believers are saying

  • Bullhound Capital, British Business Bank, and Chevron funded OQC's £260 million June 2026 Series C.
  • Barcelona's €92 million manufacturing centre adds 210 jobs, expanding capacity and talent access.
  • OQC's June 2026 partnership with JPMorganChase and AMD validates demand from regulated buyers.

What critics are saying

  • Toshiko remains 32 physical qubits; enterprise value stalls until GENESIS proves usable by 2027.
  • JPMorganChase becomes first dedicated London user within twelve months, creating concentration and deadline pressure.
  • TITAN's 2028 fault-tolerant claims face brutal physics; failure would crush OQC's commercial narrative.

What makes Oxford Quantum Circuits unique

  • Coaxmon packaging puts wiring behind the chip, enabling denser superconducting systems.
  • OQC deploys quantum computers inside commercial data centres across the UK, Japan, Spain, New York.
  • GENESIS targets secure hybrid quantum-AI workflows with JPMorganChase and AMD in London.

OQC raises $330M as quantum computing shifts from research to critical infrastructure

Quantum computing firm OQC has completed a £260 million Series C funding round, positioning itself as one of the best-capitalised private quantum computing companies globally. Chief executive Gerald Mullally said the capital will enable OQC to expand internationally and build secure, scalable quantum infrastructure for enterprise and government customers. Mullally noted that recent public market activity, including Quantinuum's initial public offering, is helping build investor confidence in the sector. He described the developments as signalling a shift for quantum computing beyond research towards practical infrastructure. The funding will support OQC's technology roadmap, advancing its quantum processors and software platforms. Mullally indicated the company's strategy includes shaping the industry's next phase through technological innovation and strategic partnerships.

JPMorganChase, OQC and AMD to build $330M quantum AI platform in London

Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC), JPMorganChase and AMD have announced a research collaboration centred on a new quantum AI data centre in London. JPMorganChase researchers will test quantum and hybrid quantum-classical computing applications in a secure enterprise environment to address complex financial services challenges. The collaboration aims to investigate how quantum-enhanced AI models can accelerate algorithm discovery for financial use cases. JPMorganChase will be the UK platform's first dedicated user, with full operations expected within 12 months. The platform integrates quantum hardware within a secure enterprise compute environment, enabling JPMorganChase to test hybrid workflows against financial services operational standards. This week, OQC closed an oversubscribed £260 million Series C funding round, Europe's largest private funding round for a quantum computing company.

Oxford Quantum Circuits bags $348M ($350M) Series C, Europe's largest private quantum computing round

Oxford Quantum Circuits has raised £260m ($350m) in a Series C round, marking the largest funding for a private quantum computing company in Europe. The round was led by Bullhound Capital, with participation from British Business Bank, European investors including Fynveur and Cofides, and US and Singapore-based firms. The UK-based scaleup builds quantum computers using superconducting qubits and offers them as a service through partner data centres in London, Tokyo and New York. Customers buy computing time rather than purchasing systems outright, an approach particularly attractive to regulated sectors like finance and defence requiring secure data storage. The funding will support geographic expansion and development of next-generation systems. OQC's current most advanced computer has 32 qubits, with CEO Gerald Mullally stating the goal is building systems for the "commercial era of quantum".
