Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a directly related human service field from an accredited university.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements.
  • Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification.
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar's insurance carrier.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical required.
  • Ability to transport clients and/or parents using personal and/or Damar vehicles.
  • Ability to follow and execute specific verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and self-awareness of personal bias.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with a variety of individuals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities
  • Provide goal-oriented services and safety assessments to each case using evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including supervisors, child and family therapists, child welfare specialists, schools, employers, and Department of Child Services or probation staff.
  • Provide case management to families involved with the Indiana Department of Child Services.
  • Coordinate services and resources when needed.
  • Provide emergency and crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Provide parent education and behavior modification or parent training.
  • Provide child development education.
  • Provide father engagement.
  • Provide domestic violence education and stress management.
  • Participate in child and family team meetings.
  • Participate in Department of Child Services case planning.
  • Provide money management and budgeting information.
  • Operate Damar and/or personal vehicles to transport clients and/or parents as needed.
  • Maintain connections to community resources and collaborate with community partners and referral sources.
  • Complete incident reports, including reporting suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client.
  • Complete and update mandatory training and other licensure-related items in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to Department of Child Services service standards, the Social Work Code of Ethics, and Damar policies and procedures.
  • Respect the culture, diversity, and rights of all clients, their families, and the community.
  • Prioritize duties consistently with organizational objectives and growth.
  • Take ownership of Damar facilities and assigned work areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous related experience is not required but is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with youth and/or adults with autism or intellectual disability/developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Bilingual skills are not required but are considered an asset.
  • Demonstrate respect for cultural, ethnic, spiritual, and linguistic diversity and values, including differences in personal goals, lifestyle choices, and family backgrounds and histories.
