Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent is required.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience are required.
  • A digital portfolio demonstrating experience writing, shooting, producing, and editing engaging video content in varied styles for diverse audiences is required.
  • Experience and expertise with video editing software, including Adobe Premiere and CapCut or similar tools, are required.
  • Videography skills, particularly with Canon DSLR and RED digital cameras, are preferred.
  • Research, organization, and time management skills are required.
  • Knowledge of professional editorial practices and processes is required.
  • Understanding of analytics and content performance metrics is required.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively is required.
  • The ability to adapt and work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy is required.
  • A background check is required for hiring.
Responsibilities
  • Produce short- and long-form video, web and social media video assets, and other multimedia content that supports the university's strategic priorities through storytelling and visual composition.
  • Plan, produce, edit, and deliver video and digital content supporting enrollment, retention, university reputation, academic profile, research, scholarship, and community engagement.
  • Develop content ideas and coordinate, direct, and film event coverage, interviews, b-roll, and promotional footage.
  • Manage post-production, including editing and mixing for clarity, emotional impact, and audience retention.
  • Create final cuts optimized for different platforms, with appropriate aspect ratios and lengths and attention-grabbing edits.
  • Create multiple edits and formats from one core piece of footage and leverage AI-assisted creative tools.
  • Ensure videos are properly tagged, titled, and stored, and manage multiple assignments with varying turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with University Communication and Marketing colleagues to develop stories and video content that support university priorities, enhance its reputation, and deliver key messages.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to share video assets across the university.
  • Coordinate regular meetings and interactions with videographers and other campus digital creators, and create a shared video editorial calendar.
  • Travel locally to project and event locations as needed.
  • Work occasional evening or weekend overtime for university events as needed.
