  • At least 10 years of building and construction management experience.
  • A preferred degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, cost controls, and financial reporting.
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration site safety experience.
  • Proven experience across multiple asset classes within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in pre-construction standards and procedures.
  • Expertise in building systems and assemblies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sage, Primavera, and Microsoft Project.
  • Willingness to travel one to two times per month.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a regional business plan for growth and sustainability.
  • Manage multiple project teams to deliver successful and profitable projects, including allocating and overseeing team members.
  • Perform hiring-manager responsibilities for regional personnel.
  • Negotiate and review prime construction contracts.
  • Prepare corporate reports and participate in corporate-level planning.
  • Oversee pre-construction activities, including soliciting and pre-qualifying new vendors, running pre-construction meetings, value engineering, and estimating.
  • Review design documents, verify complete and accurate scopes, and identify and resolve design conflicts and missing information through preparing, tracking, submitting, and distributing pre-construction requests for information.
  • Seek out and retain new and existing clients through industry contacts and business development efforts, implement customer retention and satisfaction plans, and coordinate with national business development personnel.
  • Develop or lead processes that create effective estimates driving accurate and profitable proposals.
  • Improve and enforce process controls and procedures.
  • Establish budget controls and assume responsibility for project profits and losses.
  • Analyze and mitigate project risks.
  • Manage project scheduling, including pre-construction activities.
  • Oversee project claims and their resolution.
  • Oversee and facilitate purchasing and the issuance of subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Manage project controls for safety, quality, owner relations, and profitability.
