Requirements
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit, and Collections, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Strong experience managing disputes and successful recoveries and Accounts Receivable across major national retail accounts.
  • In-depth understanding of chargebacks, deductions, MSA allowances, and retail vendor compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange processes for major retail partners, including 850, 810, and 856 transaction sets, advance shipping notices, and routing compliance, to identify whether payment delays are tied to transmission or compliance issues versus other root causes.
  • Hands-on NetSuite experience, including SuiteQL reporting and familiarity with custom workflow and automation builds.
  • Experience with SPS Commerce or similar EDI and deduction-management platforms.
  • Experience managing Accounts Receivable across a multi-entity or multi-subsidiary company structure.
  • Advanced Excel and strong general technology and systems skills.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Ability to lead and develop a team, including cross-geography and offshore team management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to resolve complex receivables, chargebacks, and customer disputes independently and build scalable processes and tools.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting Accounts Receivable performance to senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines across a multi-entity portfolio.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while driving results.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Sales, Supply Chain, EDI, and Systems teams.
Responsibilities
  • Own and manage a large, multi-entity Accounts Receivable portfolio on a shared NetSuite instance, including monthly reporting packages for the VP Controller and CFO.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a team of Accounts Receivable, credit, and collections analysts and oversee an offshore cash application team.
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings to review past-due accounts, align collection strategy, and track aging and delinquency.
  • Review customer creditworthiness and approve or escalate credit limits, terms, and order hold or release decisions within established thresholds.
  • Direct dispute, deduction, and chargeback recovery strategy across major national retail accounts through SPS Commerce and retailer portals, tracking performance against targets.
  • Own the design and continuous improvement of Accounts Receivable systems and tools, including custom NetSuite deduction-management workflows, credit-release tracking, dispute-request processes, and internal automation tools.
  • Author and maintain Accounts Receivable standard operating procedures for cash application, credit holds and releases, chargebacks and write-offs, and returned-payment handling.
  • Partner with EDI, Supply Chain, NetSuite Administration, Sales, and Customer Service to resolve invoicing, purchase-order, and portal discrepancies with retail partners.
  • Apply EDI knowledge to determine whether payment delays are caused by transmission or compliance issues versus invoice, credit and rebill, or return issues, and route the root cause accordingly.
  • Set and track annual Accounts Receivable performance goals across collections effectiveness, cash operations, systems and automation, and team development, reporting progress to senior leadership.
  • Support month-end and year-end close, Accounts Receivable reconciliation projects, and internal and external audit requests with transaction-level documentation.
  • Manage relationships with retail-partner finance and Accounts Receivable contacts and third-party recovery platforms, including recurring performance-review meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to company credit policies, internal controls, and confidentiality standards across the Accounts Receivable function.
