Child Care Resource Center

View

The Child Care Resource Center connects families to affordable, quality child care and a wide range of family and community resources. It trains and supports child care providers through professional development, coaching, and technical assistance to strengthen the local child care system and economy. Programs include a community family resource directory, research and evaluation, and advocacy through government relations to share laws, budgets, and events. Funded by grants, private gifts, and government funds, it keeps overhead around 8% so 92% of funding supports services for children, families, and providers, with a focus on efficient use of resources and close community engagement to improve well-being.

What believers are saying

  • CCRC updated income ceilings for 2026-27, widening access for more families.
  • Its funding priorities target food insecurity, screenings, and business partnerships.
  • The apprenticeship program supports workforce supply during California’s persistent child care shortage.

What critics are saying

  • A 2026 data-breach class action threatens trust, fines, and legal costs.
  • CCRC depends on grants and public funding, leaving budgets exposed to appropriation changes.
  • If the breach widens, families and providers leave, undermining enrollment and referrals.

What makes Child Care Resource Center unique

  • CCRC runs subsidized child care, provider training, and family case management in California.
  • Its 2026 apprenticeship builds the early childhood workforce through earned learning pathways.
  • CCRC pairs child care access with food support and developmental screenings.
