Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi is looking for an efficient, passionate, and team-oriented General Technician to join our dynamic team! Holiday Inn Abu Dhabi, the first Holiday Inn property in Abu Dhabi, welcomes guests with 203 modern and stylish rooms, complemented by a diverse selection of dining, entertainment, and meeting facilities. Our hotel offers a variety of unique food and beverage experiences, from international dining at Silk Route Café to vibrant evenings at Thirty 1st Bar & Lounge, featuring stunning views of the Abu Dhabi skyline. Guests can also enjoy an authentic Arabic social experience at Hubbly Bubbly, our shisha café, or indulge in the casual dining experience at Stock Burger Co., offering premium burgers, craft brews, and a relaxed atmosphere.

What's the job?

Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guests’ experience – as a General Technician, you’ll help keep our facilities, equipment and systems safe, functional and well maintained. From routine repairs to preventative maintenance, you’ll take pride in delivering quality work and supporting a great experience for our guests and colleagues.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

The duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Carry out routine repairs and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house facilities.

• Attend to maintenance requests promptly and ensure repairs are completed safely and to a good standard.

• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general maintenance works.

• Inspect equipment and facilities, identify faults and report major issues to your supervisor.

• Follow the preventative maintenance schedule and keep accurate records of completed work.

• Follow all hotel, IHG and local health and safety requirements and report any hazards or unsafe conditions.

• Keep tools, equipment and engineering areas clean, safe and organised.

• Support the Engineering team during emergencies, breakdowns and other operational requirements.

• Be helpful and professional when interacting with guests, colleagues and contractors.

• Use hotel resources responsibly and support the hotel’s sustainability and Responsible Business initiatives.

• Be flexible and ready to take on additional duties as required by the Engineering team.

  What We Need From You

   The ideal candidate must meet the legal requirements to work in the UAE and have previous experience in a    similar role within an international hotel     environment. We are looking for someone who is passionate about    hospitality, guest-focused, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

• Technical skills – basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and general building maintenance.

• Tools & equipment – able to safely use common hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.

• Preventative maintenance – understands basic maintenance procedures and can follow scheduled maintenance tasks.

• Safety – understands and follows workplace safety procedures and local requirements.

• Problem solving – able to identify basic faults and carry out appropriate repairs or escalate when required.

• Teamwork & communication – works well with colleagues and communicates professionally with guests and other departments.

• Education – high school diploma, technical certificate or relevant vocational training is preferred.

• Flexibility – willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays according to operational requirements.
