Requirements
  • Two to four years of related welding and fabrication experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating direct reports.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Basic competence in direct-report duties and tasks.
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to understand safety requirements and cautions.
  • Ability to perform the necessary physical labor.
Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze, modify, and implement efficient and effective department processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Interface with the Quality Assurance manager to ensure final quality and develop improved quality methods.
  • Ensure approved manufacturing methodology is followed.
  • Develop and communicate goals and key initiatives to improve plant performance.
  • Perform the physical work of the department.
  • Maintain knowledge of machine capacity and develop solutions for efficient utilization.
  • Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed and investigate accidents accurately and promptly.
  • Assign duties, monitor work quality, and ensure staff conform to organizational policies, procedures, and government regulations.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates and recognize performance.
  • Identify team problem areas and take corrective action.
  • Directly supervise employees assigned to the department in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Communicate project status and team needs to leadership at the end of each day.
