Requirements
  • An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience, or 3 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain strong attention to detail, and demonstrate organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate and experienced knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly and provide a high level of customer service to members of the healthcare team at OHSU and outside entities.
  • Ability to appreciate and cultivate a diverse study population.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate multiple clinical research studies and perform clinical, administrative, regulatory, and educational research activities related to managing patients on clinical trials.
  • Assist with the day-to-day research activities of the Pediatric Clinical Research Office to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Act as a liaison between the principal investigator and sponsoring entity.
  • Collect patient source documentation from OHSU and other medical institutions, including medical records and lab reports, and record clinical information in appropriate research documents while maintaining accurate study records.
  • Input study patient information into study-specific databases.
  • Collect and ship research specimens, such as blood and other samples, in compliance with OSHA laboratory safety requirements.
  • Carry out assigned clinical activities in compliance with established research protocols and standards.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other assigned duties.
  • Educate patients on protocol requirements, make visit reminder calls to support study compliance, complete study informed consents, and gather patient data.
  • Assist with maintenance and submission of patient data and evaluation of protocol activities, and maintain and prepare for quality assurance audits as assigned by the primary coordinator.
  • Assist the primary coordinator with data management.
  • Perform data entry for extended periods.
  • Attend regular research meetings.
  • Review charts and collect data for subjects enrolled in registries or other clinical trials that require extensive chart review.
  • Provide services assigned by the supervisor in support of the university's teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service missions.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Clinical research experience, including working knowledge of institutional review board work.
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice regulations, International Council for Harmonisation guidelines, and Food and Drug Administration regulations regarding human subjects.
  • Ability to perform venipuncture and intravenous placement for sample collection.
  • Certification from an appropriate accredited certifying body, such as ACRP or SOCRA.
