About the Company

Base Power

Residential battery storage with grid services

Base Power provides in-home energy storage via a subscription model by installing and owning a network of backyard batteries to give homes backup power and to provide grid services. Customers pay an install fee plus ongoing monthly and per-kWh charges, and Base Power sells stored electricity back to the grid during peak demand while ensuring home outage backup. It differentiates itself by using distributed, customer-backed-by-Base batteries installed in homes rather than large centralized storage sites, combined with a subscription model and direct participation in grid markets. Its goal is to give reliable home backup power and monetize distributed storage to help balance grid demand while expanding access to clean energy storage.
