Requirements
  • A Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Dental Medicine, or degree in Dental Therapy from a Commission on Dental Accreditation-accredited program is required.
  • A Wisconsin Dental Therapy license is required within one year of hire for Northcentral Technical College duties and for all work at Bridge Community Health Clinic.
  • A valid Wisconsin driver's license is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification is required, or the employee must be able to obtain it within the required timeframe.
  • All professional credentials and licensure requirements must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Initial and ongoing credentialing and privileging according to Health Resources and Services Administration guidelines are required for Bridge Community Health Clinic work.
  • Initial and ongoing payer enrollment and credentialing are required for Bridge Community Health Clinic work.
  • The ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret complex documents and present topics to internal and external individuals at all levels is required.
  • The ability to perform complex calculations, make comparisons, and interpret and provide logical explanations is required.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw conclusions, and interpret mathematical or diagrammatic instructions is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide didactic, laboratory, and clinical instruction to Dental Therapy students.
  • Prepare and deliver instructional activities, update instructional materials, and design learning experiences aligned with program outcomes.
  • Evaluate student performance using clearly communicated criteria and provide timely feedback and academic support.
  • Post and maintain office hours for student assistance.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, program review, and continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Develop evaluation criteria, assessments, and instructional resources that meet Commission on Dental Accreditation standards and reflect current evidence-based practice.
  • Participate in accreditation activities and ensure instructional compliance with program requirements.
  • Maintain professional competence in assigned teaching areas and participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, including applied research, publication, instructional innovation, or community engagement consistent with Commission on Dental Accreditation expectations.
  • Participate in program and College meetings, including Team Time and Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Submit final grades by the scheduled due date on the academic calendar.
  • Attend College in-service sessions, commencements, and other required College activities.
  • Provide educational, clinical, and therapeutic dental services to children and adults.
  • Perform comprehensive oral examinations and assessments, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
  • Deliver routine preventive and restorative care, including fillings, sealants, fluoride varnish, and basic extractions.
  • Administer local anesthetic and desensitizing medication.
  • Change periodontal dressings.
  • Prepare and place direct restorations in primary and permanent teeth.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs of removable prostheses.
  • Recement permanent crowns.
  • Fabricate athletic mouth guards and soft occlusal guards.
  • Fabricate and place single-tooth temporary crowns.
  • Prepare and place preformed crowns on primary teeth.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in community health or public health clinical settings is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching, precepting, or mentoring students is preferred.
