Our Physical Sciences effort is developing a novel AI and data-driven approach to materials discovery and development to accelerate the transition to a sustainable economy.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy & delivery of new products from discovery to commercialization by partnering closely with R&D, Computation, Commercial, and other teams
• Develop target product profiles for novel catalytic materials that maximize value creation and have a positive impact on the environment
• Deeply understand relevant customers’ needs 
• Project manage programs to ensure timely delivery
• Manage relevant external relationships 
• Collaborate with R&D and Computation to design and implement experimentation and modeling loops 
• Become an expert in the commercial and R&D landscape of catalytic materials. Monitor and communicate advancements from the broader research community inside FL97
• Communicate progress across the company, including to the FL97 Leadership Team
• Sell the vision of your program in and outside of the company

Qualifications

• Experience with managing projects, leading teams (not necessarily direct reports), prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
• Experience with experimental design, data acquisition, result interpretation, and implementation
• Able to create small, achievable units of work from large, complex, and ambiguous goals
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information to any audience
• Relentlessly output-focused—driven by impact against our mission and program goals, not by doing tasks, owning decisions, or being in meetings
• High degree of comfort with ambiguity and able to adapt to changing teams and needs
• Able to influence without authority
• Highly collaborative and empathetic
• BS in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field or equivalent industry experience 
• Experience in R&D of electrocatalytic systems
• Experience translating product candidates from discovery through scale-up and commercialization
• Experience with machine learning integration in experiment workflows
