Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, such as civil, architectural, or construction engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of estimating and bidding experience and/or turnkey project management experience in mission-critical or data-center construction.
  • Proven ability to lead estimates and bids for mission-critical construction projects successfully.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring company-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and external customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize independently and multitask effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to follow up and follow through on requests and assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Review project documents at the conceptual and schematic levels.
  • Execute digital takeoffs for mission-critical data-center infrastructure.
  • Prepare internal estimates using historical cost information from bids and completed work.
  • Perform design review and analysis to identify value-engineering opportunities.
  • Prepare proposal information for clients.
  • Produce accurate budgets from conceptual and schematic design phases through final estimates in alignment with organizational goals and strategy.
  • Prepare and maintain the status of plan reproduction.
  • Solicit subcontractors and vendors and maintain communication with them.
  • Prepare subcontractor bid packages.
  • Transmit addenda and other bid information to subcontractors.
  • Ensure proper subcontractor coverage on bid day.
  • Review bid requirements and ask follow-up questions on every bid.
  • Understand the scope of assigned trades.
  • Develop requests for information and clarifications and ensure adequate subcontractor coverage.
  • Perform bid-day analysis and scoping for assigned trades.
  • Match subcontractors to the size and scope of each project.
  • Create bid lists that fit the project scope.
  • Include value-engineering ideas on every bid.
  • Check requirements to procure the proper subcontractor scope.
  • Award subcontractors in a timely manner to ensure material release.
  • Ensure subcontractors understand and commit to the project schedule.
  • Provide subcontractors with project information, including the project manager, superintendent, and permit status.
  • Identify and qualify new subcontractors and material suppliers.
  • Lead stakeholders through the design and preconstruction phases of assigned projects.
  • Support business development by reviewing preliminary budgets with clients.
  • Oversee the internal team, including project managers, in preparing cost estimates using a competitive strategy.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations throughout the preconstruction phase.
  • Negotiate project construction services.
  • Work closely with clients to deliver satisfactory projects that meet the owner’s objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
