Airgas to showcase welding automation at FABTECH.

Airgas to showcase welding automation at FABTECH. Amid ongoing labor shortages, rising operating costs, and growing demand for throughput, Airgas, an Air Liquide company, will showcase its advanced portfolio of welding, cutting, and gas technologies and solutions at FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas. Airgas will welcome attendees at Exhibit S29036 to experience firsthand how forward-thinking solutions can deliver 20% to 40% productivity gains with little to no capital investment. At the heart of the exhibit, attendees can take part in a hands-on welding challenge powered by the Airgas Unlocking the Hidden Cost of Welding(TM)(UHCW) program. After laying a bead, participants step up to analysis stations where Airgas experts turn real-time operational data - like travel speed, shielding gas, and wire choice - into instant cost-per-foot savings and productivity insights, showing fabricators exactly how to unlock immediate margin gains. Innovations & shop-floor technology highlights. * BotX Cobot Welding and Cutting Solutions: Red-D-Arc's BotX Cobot Welding System features advanced welding processes and operates completely without cloud connectivity, ensuring robust, reliable, and secure shop-floor operation. Also on display will be the BotX Plasma Cutter, offering 3D precision cutting via manual path teaching or CAD/CAM imports for fast, accurate results, with an optional magnetic base for maximum mobility. * RADNOR Plasma Cutter & Equipment: Featured products include the high-precision RADNOR Plasma Cutting Table for compact shop footprints, the RADNOR Model 45A cutter and consumables, RADNOR by Flextur(TM) industrial welding tables featuring optional Nitride+ surface treatments, and the expanding RADNOR Women's PPE collection tailored specifically for female welders. * ARCAL Shielding Gases & FLAMAL Oxy-Fuel Gases: Airgas will highlight its ARCAL line of five argon and argon-blend gas mixtures formulated to enhance weld integrity, and will also showcase the FLAMAL line of high-performance oxygen and acetylene gases engineered for cutting, brazing, heating, and welding. Both gas lines integrate advanced cylinder valve technology for more efficient and safer gas handling. * Yaskawa Motoman(R) GP20 Robot: A fast, high-precision 6-axis industrial robot featuring a 20 kg payload capacity and a 1,802 mm reach. Built with a slim profile and an IP67-rated wrist, it excels at streamlining heavy-duty welding, cutting, and automated material handling workflows in tight spaces. Airgas named key supporter of 3M 'Clash of the Grinders' competition. Airgas will serve as a key sponsor and host for the 3M "Clash of the Grinders" competition at FABTECH 2026. The event features elite welding instructors from across the nation competing in real-world metalworking and fabrication challenges, with the live welding segment hosted inside the Airgas exhibit area. Matt Williams, Vice President Advanced Fabrication Markets - Business Development, states, "Metal fabricators today are under immense pressure to increase output while managing tight margins and a shrinking pool of skilled labor. At FABTECH 2026, our goal is to demonstrate that operational efficiency isn't just about adding hardware, but about optimizing every step of the process. Whether through cloud-independent cobots, precision shielding gases, or practical shop-floor analysis, we are delivering immediate, measurable productivity improvements that help our customers protect their bottom line."

Air Liquide's Airgas delivers high-pressure nitrogen for Artemis II launch.

Air Liquide's Airgas delivers high-pressure nitrogen for Artemis II launch. The company leveraged its infrastructure and technical expertise at the Merritt Island site, achieving high flow rates to support the rocket during final countdown and liftoff. Air Liquide recently announced that its subsidiary, Airgas, successfully supported and continued its role in the advancement of American space exploration. As part of a 50-year partnership with NASA, Airgas supplied critical high-pressure nitrogen required for launch operations at the Kennedy Space Center. The nitrogen gas was managed and supplied by the Airgas facility in Merritt Island, FL. The company leveraged its infrastructure and technical expertise at the Meritt Island site to fulfill the rigorous demands of NASA's Artemis II launch, achieving high flow rates to support the space launch system rocket during final countdown and liftoff. "The Artemis II mission is more than just a return to the Moon; it's a testament to what we can achieve when we aim for the stars," said Marcelo Fioranelli, CEO of Airgas. "At Air Liquide, we are honored to fuel this historic endeavor, knowing that our supply of nitrogen plays a crucial role in enabling this leap forward. This mission, much like our commitment to every customer, is about filling our potential. We are proud to support NASA as they inspire the next generation of deep space explorers." Airgas supplies high-flow nitrogen pumping and pipeline services for critical rocket tests and launches, aided by dedicated onsite supplies and air separation units to enable consistent, high-specification gas supply required by specialized space operations. Overall, the Air Liquide Group provides essential ground-based infrastructure, cryogenic equipment, and systems for launch vehicles and satellites, in addition to cryogenic fluids and high-purity rare gases for propulsion. As the first crewed flight of the Artemis program, this 10-day journey has sent a four-person crew around the Moon, marking the first human travel to lunar space in over 50 years and paving the way for a permanent lunar presence. The space sector is one of the multiple areas of development for the Group, which is ideally positioned due to its footprint in the United States and comprehensive supply chain for space exploration. Cryocap OXY. In early March 2026, Air Liquide and Holcim entered an agreement to develop a for Holcim's near-zero cement production plant in Obourg, Belgium. Per the agreement, Air Liquide will supply oxygen for Holcim's oxyfuel-ready clinker production line, in addition to its Cryocap OXY technology to capture CO[2] emissions with high efficiency. Captured CO[2] will be transported via pipelines to a CO[2] export hub, like Antwerp@C, for subsequent shipment to permanent offshore storage in the North Sea. The new strategic agreement aims to transform Holcim's Obourg plant into a leading large-scale near-zero cement production facility, representing a milestone for the collaborative project. Its final investment decision is subject to additional partnerships across the value chain, as well as public sector support for infrastructure regulation and the provision of derisking mechanisms. This project aims to capture 1.1 million tons of CO[2] per year under GO4ZERO, Holcim's investment program focused on achieving carbon neutrality in Belgium by 2030. The initiative would significantly contribute to the European Union's 2050 net-zero target. This partnership demonstrates the Air Liquide Group's ability to provide efficient carbon-capture solutions at scale to meet the needs of its customers.
