Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty or field is required.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required.
  • The ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail is required.
  • The ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines is required.
  • The ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion is required.
  • The ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary is required.
  • The ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct fitness and health risk assessments and baseline biometric testing.
  • Review health history questionnaires to assess risk factors that may require medical clearance.
  • Compile and manage member intervention and fitness data using relevant programs.
  • Develop and implement structured exercise programs for members, such as personal training.
  • Monitor participants engaged in fitness and intervention programs.
  • Develop and present fitness and intervention educational sessions to members.
  • Answer members’ questions and instruct them on how to operate equipment.
  • Ensure members follow policies and procedures in the fitness areas.
  • Supervise fitness areas and classrooms and inspect cardio, training, and functional equipment for damage, wear, loss, and improper usage.
  • Assist wellness programs and membership staff in facilitating orientations, educational programs, and marketing campaigns.
  • Teach group exercise classes, in person and/or virtually, including yoga at various levels, mat and reformer Pilates, and dance classes.
  • Substitute for other class instructors as needed.
  • Offer challenging and educational exercise routines to help members reach their health and fitness goals while maintaining safety and remaining within scope of practice.
  • Achieve daily class attendance goals by developing relationships with current class participants and attracting new participants.
  • Set up equipment, test the microphone, and greet members as they enter the fitness room.
  • Maintain, clean, re-rack, and organize all equipment at the end of class.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and master class sessions as required.
  • Maintain all mandatory education certifications.
  • Maintain constant communication with Fitness & Wellness Center administrative offices and the supervisor by email, phone, and in person.
  • Follow all Fitness & Wellness Center policies, procedures, and standards, including existing music and video policies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
