Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience in heavy-duty refrigeration repair or maintenance, preferably with commercial trucks, trailers, or industrial units.
  • In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
  • Required EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair refrigeration units and related systems and components on heavy-duty tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units.
  • Install, maintain, and repair heavy-duty refrigeration units on trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-cycle problems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure proper functioning.
  • Recharge refrigerant systems and replace or repair parts, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.
  • Perform pre-startup checks on equipment and communicate necessary repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Work in indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures and conditions.
  • Rebuild equipment components.
  • Complete repair orders in a timely manner and charge all labor and parts to the appropriate unit.
Desired Qualifications
  • Technical certifications in refrigeration or heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Commercial Driver's License.
  • Automotive Service Excellence certifications.
  • Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or refrigeration certifications.
