Requirements
  • A valid United States driver's license maintained for at least six months is required, along with adequate personal-vehicle insurance if applicable, a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a driver's screening background check.
  • The incumbent must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, lift at least 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques or a two-person lift, and assist persons served with activities of daily living.
  • The employee must be able to operate a computer and office equipment, communicate with persons served and staff, and maneuver through the facility and narrow spaces.
  • The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50% of the time as needed and meet the stated vision, hearing, mobility, and communication requirements.
  • The employee must obtain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification within two weeks of hire, First Aid certification within two weeks of hire, and Medication Administration Program certification within 150 days of hire.
  • The employee must demonstrate knowledge of personal computer applications and equipment, the ability to balance competing priorities, make independent judgments and decisions, and work professionally and confidentially.
  • The employee must demonstrate sensitivity to cultural, religious, ethnic, disability, and gender issues and the ability to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons served, families, and neighbors.
Responsibilities
  • Help persons served who are new to the residence settle in and support persons served who have difficulty sleeping at night.
  • Encourage good sleep habits and implement treatment plan interventions as directed by the team Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts clinician.
  • Perform day-to-day assignments as directed by the Program Director.
  • Use recovery-oriented, person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed, culturally competent, and strengths-based approaches with persons served.
  • Adhere to safety, maintenance, human rights, and other operational policies and procedures, and comply with physical site licensing standards and regulations.
  • Store, administer, document, and dispose of medication consistently with Medication Administration Program requirements, funding source regulations, and company policy when applicable; teach persons served medication management.
  • Create opportunities for persons served to participate in operating the residence, including meal preparation and physical site maintenance.
  • Encourage social interaction among residents and help create a collaborative environment where persons served, families, friends, and others important in their lives are welcomed, respected, and valued.
  • Serve as a resource for neighbors and help persons served prepare meals.
  • Participate in trainings, supervision, and staff meetings as requested, and assist with orienting new staff.
  • Complete required documentation and incident documentation as needed.
  • Contribute to the program's quality improvement goals and objectives.
  • Help persons served use crisis intervention techniques when necessary and access on-call backup when needed.
  • Perform physical site maintenance activities according to the maintenance schedule and perform other related assigned duties.
